The Massive Debate is Settled: Springfield is in Illinois!!!

Yesterday, the answer was finally settled. The large check that Buzz was showing off yesterday from Alexandra even had a zip code that began with 627 (Springfield's zip). |

All you had to do was ask. I've known that Springfield was in Illinois forever. Didn't you ever wonder why it only took them 30mins to get to Chicago?? |

We always assumed it, especially since Chicago is considered across the street. But the issue was never settled for certain. I remember that recently there were mountains near GL Springfield for a certain storyline. There are no mountains in the real Illinois. I thought that was hilarious. |

Sorry, but you can't get to Chicago from S/F in 30 minutes. I live in Illinois and there is no way that could happen. Fly to Chicago - 45 minutes. Done it several times. Driving - at least 2+ hours. If people from soapland make it sound like Chicago is just a hop, skip, and jump so be it. But never in real life. |

Thanks Delonjo, I always wondered about just 'where' Springfield was located too. Remember just recently, 'The Simpsons', needed to decide just WHERE their Springfield was located??? |

If SF, Illinois is GL's home town why do so many GL characters mention Oklahoma? I have often thought SF,Ill and am very familiar w/ that area having spent my young life in Illinois (Rockford). There are MANY Springfields in MANY states..but D did some detective work and I am glad to accept that location. |

And I believe As The World Turn is based in Illinois too. Just like Y&R and B&B are both based in Wisconsin. CBS seems to like the midwest a lot.

Thet aren't originally from Springfield. |
