Coops friend was a jerk! You don't make people feel that way! Ashley is very pretty, and I,m not only talking about the character.Ashley has so many things to offer, however she is ensecure about herself, that is her mothers fault. Ashley needs to forget about what peoplr think, because if they have a problem with her looks, thats their problem.

I think Ashlee's problems go deeper than her looks. I think we will probably find out that she was molested (or something like that) as a child. Did you see the freaked out look on her face when Coop tried to kiss her? My money is on a molestation story.

Every time they give Ashlee's character some back bone, they snatch it right from under her. I am tired of each time I am cheering her on she falls down again. Her self-esteem is in dire need of some boosting. I hope it is not any child molestation, why can't they just let her have low esteem regarding her weight build her up and let it be seen that her weight is not an issue at all. She is beautiful young woman. I just hope they don't make her issues so deep. Maybe they can just show that everyone is not skinny and that a big girl can have fun, especially since most women are not a size 2. In my opinion Ava is to dam* skinny. There is so many opportunities to use her character to let people see that weight does not have to hold you down that she can still have love and a full and exciting life.

I was hoping the writers wouldnt go for the obvious with Ashlee. I certainly hope they dont bring child molestation into this s/l either. Why cant a character be overweight without having all the 'deeper issues'? Ashlee is a great character and the actress who plays her deserves so much more than the obvious s/l's that overweight actors always are handed. Why cant she have exciting and great s/l's without having to address the weight issue. Cant ppl just like to eat?? Maybe a thyroid issue? why bring it up at all??? Only a few thin actress have had anorexia s/l. Why does EVERY chubby actor have to deal with this s/l. I enjoy ashlee and coop and found it refreshing that so far as ive been watching it hasnt even been mentioned. I know lots of overweight ppl with great self-esteem and havent been molested..they just like food!!!!! (im one of them). Please writers..can we drop the low self-esteem for ashlee?????? and the comments from jerk characters?? its been done a thousand times before!! move on

Awwwwwwwwww....poor girl. If she doesn't want to feel such self-pity, then she needs to ***DELETED***. very simple. Is she handicapped in some way that she absolutely must be embarrassed and so self-conscious about her size? If not, then why should I feel sorry for her? If I were Coop, I'd have told her to put a sock in it! I ff most of her scenes because they begin the same each day and end the same each day.

Poor Ashlee. She cannot do anything ***DELETED***. Her body and everyone else victimizes her.

Everybody: "Awwwwwwwwww...." Is she gone yet?

I don't think she really expected Coop to leave Ava for her and now she is terrified.

Although her self esteem is growing in some areas, you have to realize that she has had Doris in her ear telling her that she is not worthy her entire life. If you are told you don't count every day of your life, year after year, you begin to believe it.

Ashlee will come around, but right now she's like a deer caught in the headlights and has no idea what to do next. If she gives into Coop right now, I think she is afraid that she will eventually be rejected, but time will change that.

So because she's fat that makes it okay for him to be rude to her? She's not allowed to have her feelings hurt? Come on. I'm never one to feel sorry for her but that was rude of him, and finally she had a reason to be upset.

No reason for all of us to swoon but still, she had a valid reason to feel the way she felt.

It's that it's the same thing every day. After witnessing more than a year of her whining and self-pity, I'm personally sick of seeing her. She can be a happy fat woman. There are plenty out there who really love their bodies and many, many, many men--more than anyone wants to admit--love big women unapologetically. If she's sad about her situation, she needs to stop crying and do something about it. She didn't like Alan's treatment of her mother, so she shot him. That was decisive action, if ridiculous. The same thing should go for her body. If she doesn't like it soooo much, she can change it.

It gives no one the right to be rude to her. This ain't no Afterschool Special. I get it. She's sad. I say, so what! Leave town!

For real, she's annoying. All I was saying was that the guy was rude.

I agree the guy was rude. But I think that TPTB really could haven left the guy out of the scene. First of all even Marina did not like him. Most people in life are not that vain or am I in another sector of life?

Whoa!!! Do I disagree with you!!! having a weight problem like Ashley is a desease not a way of life. I know, I used to weigh 260 lbs. You obviously don't understand men & women who are like this. We don't eat and become fat because we want to....some of us are unable to loose weight no matter how hard we try. I'm not going to tell you how I lost the weight because that's not the issue. It wasn't easy and like alcoholism is a day to day way of life. I'm angry at what you said and yes we do loose self-esteem because family and friends don't let yopu forget you are overweight. I was overweight since birth...was it because of what I ate??? no.. Going to school, not being asked out on dates, going on rides at amusement parks...it was all hateful and degrading. Was I to stay home because of it??? It is very hard to trust a guy who wants to go out with you because you have been burned before. Guys can be very mean to you and then laugh behind your back. Yes, I feel sorry for Ashley and I hope she can get some help and loose weight but that isn't who she is and it shouldn't be an issue. It takes years to finally like yourself enough to do something. I used to be very overweight myself. I grew up being the "fat boy." I know how it is and I remember the pain of how it was. Sitting on my butt each afternoon watching GL and wishing and whining (which I did) that I looked like Alan-Michael nos. 1 and 2 just made things worse. I wasn't always a perfect size four.

Until I see a deeper reason for her "plight," I can't relate. Just whining and crying about it makes me angry and bored. Many fat women, as I said previously, are not sad and depressed. The stereotype of big people not being able to love themselves is horrendous. I want it stopped. Is her problem glandular? I don't know. I don't want to know anymore. She's a gun-slinging mess! She's looking for someone to make her happy. That's not the way the real world works.

I want her to leave town in disgrace.

We live in an anorexic society...everybody is expected to be ultra thin. I've spent much of my life anorexically thin but after having children I am at a healthy weight. I hear comments from different people about my weight, being fat even though I am not fat. I'm just not as skinny as I once was. I'm just a little heavier than before pregnancy, people just aren't used to seeing me at a normal weight. It is all relative. What really matters is what is inside.
