Yes, Olivia has been living with this in her mind for a long time. She has now got to live in the present, and not in the past. Jeffrey, has done and said everything he can to her. He has said he is sorry she had to go through everything alone. He is being kind to their daughter. Avaa, has moved on, so Olivia has to give up this bad memory and move on too. All that beauty, and no one to love her, except Delonjo... Awww |

Quote CYRINA4everfan: I'm sorry but this just kept comming back to me. The whole Olivia/Jeffrey S/L...how many of you think that he raped her? I don't think that it would be considered rape. She never said, 'no.' She never aked him to stop. Besides taking advantage of her I think that the only thing that Jeffrey did wrong was leaving her alone and pregnant in the morning, and not comming back. I don't think that what he did was right but technically all he did was take advantage of her. Not rape her. IMO. Heck no it was'nt rape! she was drunk and hot to trott |

Quote cardinal: Unfortunately, we never saw everything that happened, so I can't say for sure whether it was rape or not. Still, Olivia did say that she didn't want it. Whether she said no to it or not, she didn't actually say yes to sex, vocally speaking. Because she was drunk, Olivia was incapable of consenting to anything at that moment. Also, Olivia told us that she passed out at the moment of sex. This confession bothers me a lot, because if a person is unconscious, then it falls to the remaining conscious partner to make a decision, on whether or not to proceed. Yes, Jeffrey was drunk too, but he should have at least noticed that Olivia's eyes were closed (he was facing her at the time), and not taken advantage of the situation. He also said (in the ITL episode) that he didn't care whether or not Olivia wanted it, just that he wanted it. So, if Jeffrey saw that Olivia was unconscious, and just didn't care, then yes, he did rape her. Unfortunately, a big gap exists between them lying on that bed and the aftermath. Until those missing scenes are played out in thier entirety, I'll never know for certain what happened. All of her reactions to him and her body lagage said,"come and get it" |

i really didn't like the whole storyline with the rape thing. Rape is such a serious topic that it was kind of uncool that they even brought it up and then dismissed it like it was nothing. personally i don't think it was rape, i mean yea she wasn't 18, but did he know that? (i don't remember exactly - but i don't think he knew). i mean obvously a woman wouldn't fall for her rapist. but i think the writers should have put more thought into it before they started throwing the term rape around. the writers did such a great job with Reva's cancer storyline - they should have done the same thing with Olivia's rape storyline. a lot of people get inspiration from the show but it wasn't very inspirational if they call it rape - and then make it seem like no big deal! A woman needs to know that being raped is not her fault and that a man should pay if he does rape her. and i really don't think this story conveyed that! |

Flirting with a handsome guy at a party is a far cry from actually asking for sex! |

Quote Delonjo So a drunk young girl has to scream her head off or it's not rape? A woman must have physical bruises and burns and scratches all over her body. If not, it was consensual. "Why didn't you fight?" If you didn't fight, you weren't raped. These are pre-feminism laws that never took the feelings and circumstances of women into account. Yeah, let's go back to those days when women had no representation and here victims of men's "superior wisdom." Just lie there and take it, girl. No one is gonna believe you because you didn't scream. I find it odd that I, a man, have more compassion for the situation of young women then a bunch of women. Jeffrey didn't rape her. He's too good-looking to have to rape anybody. "Hey, Mr. District Attorney, rape me! Rape me!" Are you guys serious? Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you!! Some people think good girls get raped and bad girls ask for it. Is the X-Generation reverting? |

I don't believe it was rape, I just believe Olivia is bitter because she didn't have a lot of options when she was younger and lost her mother and daughter. |

Jeffrey exhibits a history of taking advantage of women. What about the night he impersonated Richard in San Cristobel and bedded Cassie? When Richard?? visited Cassie right after he died? When a sixteen year old girl is drunk and passed out? Romance or rape? You tell me! I realize with the Jammie sl, the writers went down the creepy road and haven't managed to find their way back yet, but this is like taking advantage of our common sense because they saw some type of chemistry between the pair. They made a mistake, they should not have tried to smooth it over by implying romance. Maybe sometime down the road after these two hashed it out, they could be friends, but romance? |

It was rape. He was older and should have known better! Plain & simple. So what she flirted, got drunk, he's the responsible one there. Where was his brain? I can't explain for the life of me why she would want him except, she sees that he's a different person now. Or, that she forgives him for that part of her life. Not to mention, they have a daughter together. Anyway, the writers goofed on this one, but he did rape her. |

You are beating a dead horse! When this night happened Jeffrey was 18, not much older than Olivia. I think they were both drunken teenagers who made a mistake. |

No, Olivia was not raped. In the playbacks , it was very clear that when she went to that party, Jeffrey was there, and he thought she was older, and a guest of someone. They both were drinking heavily, and she was a consenting woman with a romantic man. Jeffrey never knew that the one night stand had led to pregnancy. I don't call that rape. |

Olivia sure has said it was rape!! And now she wants him |

In the playback of the show, Olivia did not say, "No", to Jeffrey. I never understood why she said it was rape. When she was remembering everything, she realized that she was only making herself believe that, because of being pregnant and having to give her baby up for adoption. In the playbacks of the show, it only showed her and Jeffrey, making love. I agree with you..No is No. But, honestly, in every aspect of that playback, they both were consenting. |

Seeing how Oliva is now with jumping in the bed with a lot of guys she dates makes me wonder if she wasn't this way as a teen. I can't really answer this question due to I wasn't watching the show back then, however going by her actions now I would say I don't think it was. |
