Did you witness that jubilant scene between Alex and Alan in the study yesterday? |

Quote Delonjo: Did you witness that jubilant scene between Alex and Alan in the study yesterday? That scene was significant because we finally saw the two head Spauldings acting as normal people with a complex relationship. I want to see more of that. We actually saw Alan smile--and sing! Seeing their naked motivations actually left me wanting to see more of the characters' actions. That is a hallmark of good writing. It's not always about who can yell the loudest (Jonathan) and who can chew the most scenery (Olivia and REVA), it's sometimes about the little moments. Gimme more! I have to know, are you a writer in your occupation? Your posts are always well written and full of such flavor. |

Thank you! I'm blushing right now. |

Quote Delonjo: Thank you! I'm blushing right now. Writing is my first love but it's not my occupation, unfortunately. I can always express myself far better in written than spoken word. It infuriates me sometimes that the writers don't seem to enjoy writing for these shows because writing for GL would be my dream come true. I'd need no other motivation than to see CC interpreting my script. I'd swoon right there on the set. OMG! Then I'd be put in a coma when Olivia slapped REVA down at my direction. Talk about heaven! Well you would be a great writer for GL. I think if it weren't for your posts, I would not come here as often. They make me laugh and sometimes scream (when we don't agree) right here at work. Keep up the good writing. Take care. |

It was great to see them having a real conversation instead of the one liners we usually see. |

Quote QueenReva: It was great to see them having a real conversation instead of the one liners we usually see. My favorite part is when Alex called him over and planted a kiss on his cheek. I was starting to wonder if they were living in separate houses since you never see them together in the house anymore. They definitely need to show more scenes like that. Thanks Heather. Also you Queen. You got my point. We so rarely witness real conversations between characters on GL. The pace is normally one one-liner after the next, and then we get to the confrontation. No one talks. No one relates to each other. Why did Alan really not hire Lizzie last week? I don't buy his explanation. The motivation seems to have been a simple plot device to spin Lizzie into Billy's world. Terrible writing. That short, simple scene yesterday between Alan and Alex was the best scene that GL produced in a long, long time. It wasn't the most exciting, but we actually saw character development. Whatta concept! It's terribly ironic that such a short, throwaway scene was a highlight. I watched it repeatedly last night. |

I desperately miss the core characters and the things we could always count on like the Bauer BBQ and Christmas celebrations. Its sad to me that the writers do not realize that this history is so relevant to the long time watchers. Continuing to spin a storyline around Reva and Josh is not what we mean when we say we miss the core characters and those meaty storylines, yet that is all we get. |

You're so right! Let's not forget hot sex, though. You know we all watch soaps for our daily hot sex quotient. |

Remember the days of Holly and Fletcher, those were good days to watch. I miss so much about the old days of GL. |

Sigh. |

Quote Delonjo: Sigh. We had actual multiple-character scenes and layered scripts and subtext then. While the writing is good today it's very MTV cotton-candy stuff. Evidence of the times we are living in. (MTV cotton-candy stuff). delonjo, I too have often wondered if you were a writer by profession. Even though we do not always agree eye to eye on everything. I do so enjoy reading and participating with you on certain subjects.. |

ITA, Delonjo, writing is definitely your forte! You should absolutely pursue a career in the writing field. You are very articulate & express yourself very well. What makes you think your verbal communications aren't as good?I'm sure they are fabulous! |

Did you see the conversation with Lillian and Alex today? Again, great scene. Maybe it took Marj to injure herself for the writers to realize that conversations between relatives and friends actually take place in Soapland. |
