It is apparent when she was head writer in the early/late 80's with her character driven story lines and plots..GL was at the top of its game when it came to storytelling and and #2 in ratings and at one time dethroned General Hopsital and took spot #1 at one time. Bring her back...She was the creator of the characters such as Reva, Mindy, Rick, Philip, India, Alexandra, Shane and Marah...Bring her back and get rid of David Kreizman he is blinded at his own writing just back he won outstanding writing...The show needs a new Headwriter now!!

Hiring PKL would be a God-Send! DK is a good writers and has won an Emmy for his hard work, but PKL's scribing is Guiding Light.

It's a wonderful wish, but her final early 90s tenure was marked with bad blood with P&G bosses.

It was the whole Sonni/Solita s/l that PKL poured her heart and soul into. TPTB did not appreciate the s/l because it was long and complex, not the MTV quickies that were and still are cherished by the know-nothing, profit-allegianced execs. When the s/l didn't immediately make the ratings rise, PKL was ordered to discontinue the story. PKL vehemently objected, and thus quit.

The rift can be repaired, but everyone would need to be adults for GL's sake, which is easier said than accomplished.

You are so right, too many ego's involved. So, who suffers, we, the fans. The writing has picked up a bit, but not to the length it was in the 80"s and early 90"s. TPTB, need to wake up and listen to the fans!

The writing has gotten more exciting of late, not essentially better. While the individual scripts are without exception very solid and sometimes comical, many stories are simply not connecting to the vast majority of us (especially Dinah/Mallet and Cassie/Josh ). And what happened to Blake? She was paralyzed before, in the 90s, so she shouldn't need to take so long recovering at rehab, if that's where she actually is.

PKL could write for strong women but they realized when they were wrong and wouldn't cross the line. PKL must be yelling at the screen if she has gotten a whiff of her favorite creation REVA's drunken mean-spirited antics lately. An episode under PKL didn't need to be rock'n'roll exciting but we were always satisfied and happy with story and character developments. PKL also focused on families. When was the last time we saw the Spauldings at dinner or the Coopers all together fighting?

PS: What I wouldn't do to see what PKL would do with Olivia. OMG!

Great post, my friend! Families, they don't show one solid family life. The only one close to a family is the Cooper family, and that isn't saying much. Oh, for the good old days ,when families sat down at a table and dicussed the day. This is how it was long ago with the Bauer family. PaPa, Bert, and Bill, and Mike and Billy. Yes, Ed Bauer, use to be called Billy. He changed it to Ed when he became a man, and was in med school. Wow, I am old!! But, I love remembering those characters. When we listened to it on the radio, we had to visualize each scene, be it in the kitchen, living room, etc. that made it fun ! Enough of the old stuff, those were the days...I am not really that old!

Yeah dont get me wrong...He has written so very detailed organized s/l's such Reva Cancer story, but even that was very frustrating to say the least. Yes, he got an emmy but he doesn't not how the fact that the show need to be revamp and tptb needs to have round table discussion and figure out how are the going to save and rise the ratings to the oldest show in daytime...

Pamlea K. Long days are gone over with,I know what yall are talking about, but i also think that David Kreizman is doing a good job.Lets just hope that the ratings will go up.I miss the old days to but that was then this is now.I will stay with the Light as long as it is on the air.I also remember Matt posting something about GL ratings even when Pamlea K. Long was still around and from what i remember GL was not # 1 then either.
