I find on all the soaps I watch, the old family values are gone and they do run for divorce A.S.A.P. There are no long standing families on Guilding Light. They've all divorced. On Days we have the Hortons and the Brady's with the original mom & dad (except for recasts), grandparents and so on. The others are the same...all mixed up. So many marry someone in the same family you really get confused. Point being Erica Kane on All My Children. Even if you don't watch the show, pretty much everyone knows she's been married 11 times.

I still think that the hardest part of Harley forgiving Gus is that he slept with Natalia of all people. Had she heard that Gus saw Harley and Dylan in bed and went on a bender and ended up in bed the next morning with some unknown one night stand, she may understand it a little better, but to sleep with the one person that Harley is actually jealous over and her being Gus' first love and mother of his only child is the roadblock.

I don't say that men don't think simply as a cop out; I say it because I come to the table believing that all people will screw you over if given the means and opportunity. Maybe there is an exquisite strain of DNA out there where all men are honest purveyors of truth and women are easy to please. I just never have come across that personally. I'm not dismissing that the Loch Ness monster actually exists, but if it is, I'd like to have a piece medium rare with onion rings.

If men and women would stop objectifying their mates and stop claiming for themselves their spouses sex organs, the world would be a happier place and Lorena Bobbitt references would not be so necessary.

OUCH! Where's my cup?

Maybe you should move. You've got a very very dark outlook on life. Settle if you wish, cheat if you choose to believe that it's acceptable. I don't I expect the best, I give the best, and that's why I always get- THE BEST!

Sorry you can't say the same

I have been around a litle longer than both of you. I have seen many marriages broken up over adultry. They ran to a lawyer instead of trying to work through the problem. I have seen people have their husbands up on a throne, never realizing that they are human. Things happen in our lifetimes, things that we thought we couldn't ever handle. But we do get through the hard times in a marriage, Today's couples have throw away marriages. Marriage is tough, two different personalies trying to jive, but forgetting each person is their own self. Adultry can be forgiven, just plenty of hard work and figuring out what made the person stray. Women and men cheat, but, why is the question? Hrley and Gus had many problems in their marriage, Gus, took the easy way out, and regrets it. The guilt is too much for him.

Wow Mary! Thank you for understanding my point. You're a special lady.

My point, while highly cynical and rather depressing on its face, is that Harley should not just offhand end her marriage. But if I know Harley and her latent, unabashed childishness, she will ride off into the sunset with her "pride and dignity" intact and with a new husband in about a year. If one wants a McDivorce after a misunderstanding such as this, then please don't act like you wanted to be married in the first place. If you quickly run to see Ronald McDonald, Esq. divorce atty extraordinaire, then said person was childishly going about marriage in a "my way or the highway" fashion and doesn't need to be married anyway, IMO.

Mary i agree with you,but in real life somethings just are to hard to forget, when one cheats not everyone can deal with it and look at there marriage the same way it once was.

Marriage is always--always!--hard; divorce is the easy way out. If one immediately prefers divorce, then there was a problem even before the "issue" raised its ugly head.

IMO if someone cheats that person has already left the marriage. Why should the other party try to make it work when the cheater gave it up.

That's for sure! It's one thing to have a one night stand but it's another to hook up with your ex that you still have feelings for.

I think you watch to many soaps. I will say everyone at some point in a marriage wonders if the grass is greener on the other side. But I would never say that one spouse in every marriage will cheat. It is one thing to think about it. it is totally different to actually do the deed. Why would anyone agree to get married if they knew one of them would cheat. A marriage is a lot of work. If there is a
problem in a marriage then you work together to fix it. When one cheats they do so with no feeling for their spouse.
They have left the marriage.

Also when you get married you become one unit. So yes I will lay claim to my hubbies sexual organs. But if I must stick to my vows "till death do you part" then I would have no problem fullfilling my vows if he cheated.

Two differences of opinion. I'm not going to stay with anyone that doesn't respect me enough to not go humping someone else.

the question is if you were Gus, well, if I were Gus, I would leave Harley and Natalia, and find MerryMary. I know she will welcome me with open arms. Just a thought!!
Gonna find her, gonna find her, searching every inch of the way!!!!!

I agree Mary....he's cute...but can he come without Allan. I don't know I would like Allan in our lives. Once he gets bored of us, he'll do the same thing he's doing to Harley. Nothing makes him happy.
