Guiding Light - MESSAGE BOARDS

You don't know how happy I am to have found this site! This site is one of the reasons that I enjoy GL so much, even while I complain bitterly a whole lot. I never really had anyone to speak to regarding GL since I started watching because GL is not as mainstream as GH or Y&R, it seems that everyone readily admits to watching those to shows, but when I mention Guiding Light, I hear crickets and people look at me and say, "Isn't that the show with the clone?" That would shut me up immediately. I felt like a loon, an outcast, like REVA at the AA/sex-aholism meeting!

We are all so funny in that we will defend our favorite characters to the death regardless of how wrong, wrong, wrong they really are. Many times I really am rolling with laughter and am an tears because of something funny I just typed and someone's even funnier response to my spin.

You are really a great group of watchers and posters. I wonder if the other msg boards here gets half as riled up as we do. I hope I don't offend too much when I get on my high horse.

Take a look at the y&R board. And the GH, they'll slit your throat over there. You get into one of them Sharon vs phyllis fights and it's curtains. You'd love it!!!


I like this board too. My family members and friends don't watch GL they only watch B&B and y&r

I should go visit the Sharon vs Phyllis sites. But that storyline is now the pits with Nick returning from the dead in the lamest s/l EVER. Phyllis is what finally made Nick interesting. The only interesting thing about Sharon is when she and Nikki have their spats. They are both such b---hes! I love all three of them in different ways.

I have no knowledge of GH, especially since that's the place where GL actors go to die. Seriously, are their audition tapes GL scenes?

GL is the only show that I've ever loved and the only one that I return to again and again when I stray. Well...I once loved Santa Barbara, but that just gives away my age...

I don't bash posters. I've never done that. But characters are fair game for bashing. Some conflate themselves with their favorite characters. I can't help that they feel offended for my bashing of certain characters. I wish I could but oh well...

This a great place to chat about GL. I find that people are very supportive of the characters they love and loathe the ones that drive them nuts. We all have both of them. Either way, I think this is still a great place to chat and enjoy reading the posts.

When someone calls Olivia a s-ut, I get upset, so I understand. But I've called REVA and Harley far worse. It goes with the territory. I wish we all had genteel mouths...er, fingers but we can go overboard sometimes.

I took what you said as a personal slight. Now that sounded like a bash to me. But you're a mod, so I hope you wouldn't do something like that to me.

Huh, I enjoyed the clone story. I thought it was soooo funny. That's when soaps were based on fantasy, pure 100% fantasy.

Thank you, Delonjo for being out there to talk to each day. I miss your comments on the weekends , when you are playing your video games. When I found this board, I was so happy. After my mother passed away last year, I didn't have anyone to discuss the GL with each day. My mother and I were two of the biggest fans. We would watch the show together when I was over at her house. She would call me when she watched it alone, and we would talk endlessly about the show. She was my sounding board about the storylines...now I have so many new friends and foes to discuss the show with daily. I look forward to looking at the boards early in the morning. I like to catch up with the late and early morning posters. I yhank everyone that posts. I have made many new friends. Mary

When the clone s/l was going on,didn't that girl also play Michelle?
