So many people jump on Olivia with that simplistic, moralistic "wrong is wrong" approach with any of her crimes or problems, but when I shine that same exact light on Holy REVA, the issue is suddenly complex. I know that emotionally she was correct, and emotion is REVA's stock and trade. Holy REVA broke the law. I don't see the truth and justice squad. Why? REVA kidnapped a baby, and then drugged and kidnapped the mother and had her mutilated at the behest of her arsonist son. Wrong on each and every level! But because Holy REVA says that Sarah is in danger of Alan killing her (  ), she's given a pass. If Olivia kidnapped a baby--any baby!--and falsified its death--any falsification!--Olivia wouldn't get even close to the same treatment. Also, why can Crazy Jonathan steal and raise a baby while Lizzie consistently and continually is demonized for a mistake? I remember Jonathan committing several arsons and actually trying to kill REVA, but that's all forgotten and forgiven. Why? Holy REVA continues to get a pass.Olivia was seriously crushing on Jeffrey before a drunken REVA came along shaking her shimmy and promising "no strings attached." |

You have wonderful, truthful points! The honest truth cannot be hidden. Although I like Olivia, I also like Reva -just not right now. All the characters wear on me from time to time and I go from hot to cold whenever something "out of this world" happens. At any point, I treat it as a soap and that's it. They all do stupid things, however, Reva continually receives special treatment because she's Reva and her circumstances are unique and extraodinary. Olivia continually brings fire to any situation and that makes her unique. Anyway, good points. |
