Hi, My name is Ginger and I have posted a few times about stuff but since the ending of GL, it has been kinda hard to muster words to write. I live in Salem, OR, and it is beautiful up here in the Great Pacific Northwest. I work at JoAnn Fabrics and yes, I have a stash. Not for quilts, but for doll clothes. I love to sew and it was fun watching and sewing. Could've done that so much more. What do the rest of you do? Hobbies? Unusual Talents? I did look forward to retirement, but my retirement $$ went bye-bye and is coming back very slowly. Therefore, JoAnn! I love to cook and have loads of cookbooks, but I always seem to deviate from the recipe and no dish ever tastes the same way twice. |

SS I understand exactly what you are saying. It's a good idea. I work for the Tenn. School For The Blind, and work with severe and profound multi-handicapped visually impaired students from 3-22 years of age. I am in my 10th year of doing this. My hobby is soaps. I go to the fan club weekends in NYC and L.A. every year, and to Marco Island, Florida in May every year, and to many personal appearances close by with the actors and I go on the Soap Cruises, I have done the first two and will be going on the third one in January with 20 actors. I have 3 sons, 2 daughters-in-law, one daughter and 2 grandchildren, 1 girl and one boy. I live in Nashville, Tennesssee and I go to songwriter shows in and around town and concerts and fund raisers for country music and charities. I do volunteer work for Amer. Cancer, St. Judes, Christmas for Kids and the Hands On Network and the local animal shelter. I love to read (constantly it seems) and stay on my computer and phone a lot with friends. A pretty busy life. Oh, and I try sometimes to actually sleep and eat a little!! |

My name is Cheryl and I miss GL terribly. I've taken up a new hobbie to help fill the void. Sewing!!! I've never sewed in my life and the only way I was able to pass that part of HomeEC (many, many, years ago) was to have my girlfriend sneak in to class (before the final exam) and thread the bobbin for me. I just wasn't interested and therefore, just couldn't learn. I went out a couple weeks ago and bought myself a pattern and so far...have made three pairs of sweat pants. Each pair better than the last. YAY! I'm married with one child (boy) and a couple years ago we moved out to an acreage and I became a stay at home mom. I miss working but there's plenty around here to keep me busy. Except during our long, cold winters. I live in Saskatchewan, Canada brrrr... |

Hi, my name is Mary and I have been a long time fan of the GL. I miss this show so much every day. I am a widow of 5 years, and do a lot of traveling with my many friends. I am a big Doo Wop fan and follow the group Kenny Vance and the Planotones every, and I mean every where they perform. I went on a Doo Wop cruise last May. I have tickets to see him 3 more times this year. I will see him tomorrow night. I also have tickets to see him in Florida in March in Clearwater. You can say, as my son calls me, I am a Senior Groupie. Oh, what fun!!! I just finished purchasing tickets to see him next year in April. I will be going to the So Long Sprinfield event here in Pittsburgh on Oct. 24. I see there are some posters from all over that will be there too. I saw Kim, Robert, Bradley, Frank, two years ago at a Breast Cancer event her in Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh is one of the biggest fan baases and that is why they began their tour here in town. The show sold out for the first day, so there will be an extra day on Sunday. Well, it is now time for the Y&R to begin and I now faithfully watch this soap. It is not the same as seeing the old gang of our favorites, but, is geing interesting again. It has its ups and down, just like any soap. How much longer will we be able to enjoy soaps, time will tell. It doesn't look too good for any of them now of days. You ask what to write, hey, when can't a few women and men get together and out talk each other,NEVER!!! See ya!!!!! |

Howdy---I am a stay at home mom of four great and crazy kids(3 boys and 2 girl). I seem to always be busy, but nothing of interest. I have yet to fly on a plane. I am not scared--just time, money and effort never work in my favor, but some day!! I have been married to a wonder man for almost 17 years. We live in the Midwest and I graduated from the University of Nebraska, so we really enjoy College Football. I am really HOT!!! Well, my 9 year old tells me that. His older brother said that he just does not understands what the word mean. I love to bake, when not in a rush. I have really enjoyed this site and getting to know so many wonderful and cool people! |

Hi Rosie, I enjoyed reading your post. What can be better then having great children, a wonderful husband and be happily married for 17 years? You have blessed life and I know someday you will ge to fly on a plane to a wonderul vacation. We all have waited for our turn, believe me it will come sooner than later. There is nothing better then staying home with your children and being there for them. I am sure you are a wonderful mother and a good friend to all of your friends. |

I am not worried about what I am "missing out on" as right now, as I am having fun(well when I'm banging my head against the wall). My 9 year old is a constant laugh, he sees the world in a way most kids do not. Most of what comes out of his mouth would make a person blush, but I am lucky to get to hear it all. I always have a story from him to tell his Grandma and Papa! I really have not made friends here since we moved here 4 years ago, well until I found this site. I am blessed for many reasons. One is getting to know people like you and others on this site. |

Rosie, working with kids whether they are yours or someone else's keeps you young and interesting. I will be remembering you on your birthday. I agree the posters on this board are the best. Even if we don't agree on something, we are all here together. Maybe one day you can take a trip to Nashville, Tenn. and I'll be your personal tour guide! |

I'd sure hate to lose this too. So many wonderful people here!! Hey Freckles, Don't get discouraged about sewing. It is one of the truly best things you can ever learn to do and it will give you so much when you grow old, gray, and have nothing? to do. I find it relaxing and granted, I am the old lady I referred to, I never get tired of it. I sew doll clothes for collectors. Not the antique French or German Bisque dolls. I sew for Ann Estelle (Mary Engelbreit's creaton) 8" Wendy's and Ginny"s, 50"s hard plastic like Toni, Sweet Sue, Chatty Cathy, and Patsy. Oh, I can't not mention American Girl. Just a few. No Barbies for me, though. When you get your technique down with the sweats, try to find an easy project like a tote or hat to match. So many things to create. I hope you have fun. I thank those who wrote and those who will later. I was just flabbergasted at what yall do. We've got some busy ladies out there. Keep Posting Alive--Join in! |

But if you are all together at that one--have a drink for me!! I really wish I could be there. I hope to go to Nashville some day. my hubby has travel there and loves the BBQ! He said it is just a really nice place and the people are so nice. My kids do help keep young. My teens say I do not dance to "Single Ladies" very well. But my 9 year old says I can almost dance as well as he does to " I like to move it move." Needless to say, I do not plan on growing up anytime soon! |

I worked outside of the home when my older ones started school, but I do not now. I have a BS in Child Dev., but worked years in Social Work type jobs. You have a neat and loving husband and sound like two wild and fun boys! This site is great. I have people I respect and care about more each and evey day. |

I feel blessed with my husband and boys. We started homeschooling when my oldest son was in 3rd. grade and my youngest son was in 1st. grade. It takes alot of your time, but I think that is is worth it. |
