Guiding Light - MESSAGE BOARDS

I'm angry about how CBS insulted us. Avid watchers and posters don't just give up and walk away when their programs are cancelled. Words cannot express how CBS has made us all feel we are just "simple-minded folks" who will be happy with anything that is put on our plate. Not so! There were plenty of devoted followers of Guiding Light to keep it on. The insulting part is the replacement. It is weightless. It carries no credibility. It brings in nothing. So we are supposed to be content while our beloved GL is removed and replaced with something so idiotic as a retro game show. It was stupid then, it is more stupid now. It brings no following, carries nothing and no one is going to watch it. I'm still in shock that "Let's Make a Deal" is being brought back when it was ridiculous the first time around. My mind has problems with this whole concept. I keep trying to find the words to describe how I feel. Replacing a much-loved program with a bucket of nonsense just doesn't make any sense.

Sad as it is, I think it is all about money! The show has Wayne Brady as the biggest cash out. I do not know how the show is, but if it is like the Price is Right, back when they had "show models" I do not think they get paid a lot. There is no writers, some camera people, and I am sure more people, but much less then putting a top GL show together. I will do my best to support the soaps, as I still hope that someday GL will come back to us. But if all the other soaps leave, then I feel it will be lost. I do not let any on my TV be on CBS during the old GL time slot. I do leave my TV's on CBS soaps during the day, even if I do not get the time to watch. My hope is that there is such a big drop in the viewing of the slot where GL used to be that it hits CBS like a mack truck!!!

You both said it ......I tried to watch that show...lets make a deal....And Im sorry to say.....it stinks...I didnt like it one bit. I really stop watching cbs period...but now that TOM is coming on ATWT OHHHHHH I'll be watching that only...

I will never watch Let's Make a Deal or any other show that they put on in GL time slot. I hope that CBS never finds a show that makes it that they put in GL time slot.

No, I won't watch that! I go do my exercises. I'm getting into shape finally and losing a little weight. At least it's one good thing that has come out of this sadness...I can use the time for that.

Whats really scary is that CBS in Cleveland replaced GL with Judge Joe Brown
CBS in Albuquerque either replaced GL with LMAD or Dr. Phil. I moved to ABQ after GL's cancellation so I'm not sure.

tribute to Micheal Jackson, and Donny Osmond is still on there

i agree! it is heartbreaking to have a show that is like family cancelled and it adds insult to injury to replace it with such a stupid game show!I wish we could actually put a hoax on the gl time frame that would kill any show put on then oh well, i can dream! when i am at work if i see a tv on the cbs channel, i always turn it off well, thanks for letting me vent and i hope all my new soap fan friends have a great weekend!
