I always loved Roger Thorpe even when he was being evil! Alan I loved to hate but did not always like him. What do you think? |

WOW! I am not sure??? I loved both characters. I also love/d Ron Raines and Roger Zaslow too, as they brought so much to GL. So, who do I think was more evil? I think we love them because they had a deep dark kindness that was seen from time to time. I feel Roger was more evil, kind of like a spawn from the devil. Alan was more of a product of his environment. Nature vs. Nurture is kind of like what came first the chicken or the egg. I think Roger was the best Villain, as he crossed the line with raping Holly. Well, Alan did shoot Phillip. But, Phillip was manic crazed state and Alan was trying to stop Phillip for the sake of the kids. At this minute, I vote Roger….may change in an hour however!! |

I always loved Ron Raines as Alan.He was such a multi-faceted villain. He was capable of doing horribly evil things such as trying to kill Jonathan/Tammy.But he also loved his family deeply. You hated the things he did but you loved him for his family devotion. |

Well said. For me, Ron Raines made Alan Spaulding. Of the actors that played Alan, RR took the role and took Alan Spaulding to a whole new level. Alan could be mean and evil, but deep down he was a man that loved his family and would do what he felt needed to be done for their/his best interest whether they agreed with him or not. After Lizzie let Jonathan take Sarah and made a deal with Alan to move back in the mansion if Alan would leave Sarah and Jonathan alone. The day that he held her down on the bed, I was so mad at him. But, then when he found out about Phillip, I think we seen the good side of Alan. He did do alot of bad things, but I think it was because he really loved his family so much and that he didn't want to be alone and was probably afraid of ending up being alone. This being said, I think Roger was probably the best villian because I don't think that he really loved anyone. He was just mean and evil all the time. |

I have to agree with many others, Roger Thorpe takes it by a nose. Yes, Alan was evil, but Roger beats him out. After Roger was gone, Alan came into Springfield and he became the villian, but, Roger will always be the number one evil villian, for me. |
