Guiding Light - MESSAGE BOARDS

To all of you who are still watching CBS soaps:PLEASE STOP. I thought we wanted to start a riot and now watch CBS so all of the ratings would go down because of them taking Guiding Light off? COme on people.

I havent watch CBS since the last show was on.

So your idea of justice is ban CBS, make ATWT, B & B and Y & R join Guiding Light in oblivion, I don't think so. I want the remaining soaps to do just that, REMAIN. I understand your pain but your logic is faulty. Reminds me of: shoot the messenger who brings the bad news!

It wasn't all CBS's fault. Proctor & Gamble had their hand in it too.

No you can still watch CBS soaps but on another network here in Canada Canwest Global carries Y&R and ATWT and CTV carries B&B so I still watch just not on CBS. any CBS show I want to watch I can find on another channel. If you have cable just try that for a while. If they feel it we may be able to save the soaps we have left. It seems to me they started to talk about canceling G&L after the other channels dropped it. I didn't care at the time because I can only watch on one channel but now I think that was the beginning of the end. I saw Christen Chappel on another soap yesterday and it has promise I think I will start watching for a while and see how it develops.

I still watch Y&R, and am trying to get back to ATWT so when Tom Phelphrey is there I will be up to speed. I refuse to have the tv on CBS at 2:00, I put on other stuff, not watching, but so it can compete agains the yuck game show that took GL place.

Sorry, I will still support my remaining soaps ATWT, B&B & Y&R.Those are the only shows on CBS that I will watch. Guiding Light was always my favorite, I am heartbroken that it is gone, but I would like to enjoy the CBS soaps that remain. I am kind of pissed at that commercial of there's "It's a brand new day", advertising ATWT, B&B & Y&R with Let's Make A Deal it feels like they are rubbing salt in the wound.

I still watch ATWT. I watch Y & R somewhat...it's gotten so bad I FF or change channels to avoid the worst s/l's and sometimes can't bear to watch it at all. I think CBS has targeted Y & R to start making it unbearable so ratings will be so bad they can cancel it. I really believe CBS will have NO daytime soaps eventually.

Oh, and I have absolutely no interest in any soaps that are not on CBS. At my age, if the soaps I have watched for a long time are cancelled, that's it...no more soaps. But for those who can watch the other ones...if you like them, watch them!
