Tom signed a one year contract with As The World Turns. He began filming in mid-September.

he actually signed a contract!!!!!!!!!! I didn't think he was going to stay for long. That is such GREAT news! I have to say I was caught off guard when I was reading a soap mag and there was a picture of Tom with some other soap stars and it had their names next to it and it said Tom Pelphrey Mick on ATWT! It's going to take some getting used to him not being Jonathan. I did read on his myspace page that he will be a bad boy and that it is being written by the same man that won him the Emmy's for his Jonathan character!

Where did you read that he signed a 1 year contract? The last I had heard, it was a short term role.

No, he stated at the Emmys that he had signed on for a year. Also told it on another radio interview.

That is great news and congrats to Tom!! If the same guy is writing his "bad boy" story, he will knock there socks off in Oakdale!! I am glad I started to record ATWT, I do not want to miss Tom's debut! I am really glad while he was on GL that we got to see both sides of his abilities!! "Here's looking at you kid!"

I'm with you,....I really like the 'Jonathon' character too! Although Tom is very talented,.... he can play anybody and have you fall in love with whoever he plays,...he just 'pulls you right in' to his character. I can't wait to see how his newest character is going to be. And its doubly exciting that the same person that wrote him 'Johnathon' is going to be writing 'Mick'! Ooooh,...so excited to see Tom again!! Although I really did love his vulnerability from the tough guy when he was with Tammy!!

does anyone know when is his first day? i mean airing..i started watching one life to live and i think it sucks..so i might start watching as the world turns now that my hunk is there!!

I already posted this earlier, but I'll do it again. He told me Saturday that it's the first of November.

We weren't talking about his contract, but he signed for a year. Each contract has 13 week cycles, where the actor can leave or the show can drop you so who knows? But his contract is for 12 months.
