I think I would have had more closure with the "Jeffrey Situation" had they shown Reva turning off the lantern. To me that was a key piece that was simply overlooked. Call me sentimental, but wasn't that supposed to be symbolic or something?

Yes, the GL represented a light that Rev. Rutledge kept burning as a symbol of help to anyone who needed it. His story was in the original GL s/l.

I agree...would have been a nice touch esp with all the hype of turning out the light
What I thought would have been a nice touch (hindsite is 20/20) is to have a new minister at the church of Springfield who was Rev. Rutledge's great grandson, Rev. Rutledge---and have him officiate at Alan's "funeral"
