It's just not getting any easier. Oh how I miss GL. I just can't believe how sad and depressed I am over losing this show. I am, however, getting my garden work all done. Gotta get at it first thing in the morning. I used to watch GL at 8am. Now I go to the garden. Is anyone else missing it more and more each day?

freckles61:Your not alone in missing GL.I'm sure there are many of us with holes in our daily routine now including myself. When something has been a part of your life for many years you are bound to miss it when it disappears. We were fortunate to have so many years with wonderful characters to enjoy.Good luck with your garden.

I've been shopping, reading, painting -- anything to keep my mind off of it.

Speaking of withdrawels, my husband looks at me today about 3:30 and says you know if they had DVD's of GL, I would go out and buy everyone of them for you so that we would have something to do at 3:00. It is just not the same without our Springfield family.

Oh your hubbie sounds like a sweetie. My hubbie can't understand what I see in a soap and found it quite amusing that it was cancelled...makes me so mad

He started watching GL with me when he retired. Even though he hadn't watched it as long as I had, he was ticked off when they cancelled it. He was a big Lizzie fan and I was a Bizzie fan, so I sent Marcy/Lizzie fan club or something like that a note and about 6 or 8 weeks later, he got a signed picture of her through mail. He didn't know that I had done it, so he was pleasantly suprised.

I was wondering if anyone else was going through withdrawals... I keep looking at the clock to see how many hours until GL comes on, and then I remember...

I heard Ron Raines sing on a website, and he's really a fantastic singer. I hope I can hear him sing in person sometime. I'd like to hear Robert Newman, Josh, too.

Luckily i've been busy with my moving sale...but i still have been looking at my watch at 2:45 thinking its time to get ready for GL. So much for that....
*chuckles* I was sitting down to dinner after the moving sale today (we made $900 on our first day...I about pooped my pants! LOL) and was watching SNL's weekend update tonite at 8pm eastern and they did a little blip recognizing GL going off the air, etc--just talking about it and did a little spoof of a generic soap opera--was cute...I left the dinner table to watch it...anything to get something of GL

I too seen the SNL weekend update show. As I posted my husband got into watching GL with me. Anyway, I am surfing the web, watching T.V. and he is playing his video game and listening to the T.V. He hears the word GL and stops playing to watch what they are saying about GL. I was sitting there thinking, huh, I try to get your attention when you are playing that game and I can't, Ok.

I went away for the first weeek the light wasn't shown, so next week when I am home in the morning, I'll really feel the loss. I will miss writing the spoilers for all of you that liked to read them before the show started in your hometown. I feel like I lost all of my friends at one time.

Just keep posting with us and we will all get through this. I knew that it would be hard when our GL was gone, but, I never thought how hard it would be. But, after 40, 50, and some 60 years of being with GL, it is like losing family. Someone had posted that they felt like they knew some of the people on GL better than they did their own family. That's true, not only do I think that I knew some of the people better, I think that I connected with some of the people better than my own family. I never had a real Grandpa growing up so, I always thought that Billy would be the best Grandpa. Then when I watched Josh with Henry. He was a great Grandpa also, and Phillip when he seen Sarah, he was good too. Even if Alan had died, we could have seen what kind of Grandpa Phillip would have been compared to Alan. However, I would have prefered to have kept Alan on the GL. I didn't want him to die.

That is HILARIOUS! From now on when you want his attention, start singing "Everybody feels low, Everybody feels high. . ."

I check the message boards everyday to see if anyone else feels the same as I do.I agree with everyone about withdrawels...LIFETIME MOVIES, FOODNETWORK. TMC, TBS are better than watching cbs or supporting Proctor and Gamble. BUT can't replace the GUIDING LIGHT!
I'm usually getting dinner started after the 3 o'clock show here on the east coast, and I'M lost! out of routine. I'VE already baked my chicken, stuffing and rice made greenbeans fruit salad for our dinner and my husband doesn't get home until 4:45p! oh well..guess we can reheat.
REVA, JOSH..BILLY, BUZZ..ALAN, PHILIP.. ALEX..BETH..LILLIAN.. THE REST OF THE LEWIS, COOPER, SPAUDING CLANS..WHERE ARE YOU???
