Guiding Light - MESSAGE BOARDS

I've always been a fan of Grant's but I gotta say....in these last few weeks, I've really come to see what an amazing actor he is.

Such raw emotion, so powerful, even in the quietest of moments, where he barely raises his voice. The facial expressions, the moments where he stops and sighs before speaking......just amazing. I swear, you could see the love he felt for his co-stars in every scene. When he hugged Aunt Alex or Beth or Rick or Mindy, etc..you just knew that he truly felt emotion and love for these people.
And, of course, his final scenes with Ron Raines (who I adore, also....another amazing wonderful actor!!)....who was left dry-eyed when Alan died on that bench and Philip buried his head in Alan's lap while sobbing?).

The one and only Philip Spaulding. *sigh* Forever etched in my mind!

GA is an amazing actor. I'm guessing that these last few months all the actors had a little help with their own raw emotions of the show being canceled that helped out their acting, as well. GL has the best cast on Daytime TV - Kim Zimmer, Robert Newman, Tom Pelphrey, Crystal Chappell....The lost goes on and on!

ITA!!! I remember when Phillip/GA first came onto screen, I was like 14 or 15---I was soooo in love with him. As I matured, I really saw an actor, that just happend to be very good looking. He knows how to get a point, a feeling across without over acting and can just give a look. I hated when he was "kill" and then a crazy man. But I was very happy that they brought him back and could not see GL ending without him. He is one of the best actors I have ever seen. I have not always been happy with the writing staff at GL, but the last few months, what they gave to GA and what he did with the script was pure magic.

He has always been my favorite actor on the show since he arrived. I was a teenager at the time and he'll always have a special place in my heart. I hope he continues acting.

One time I ran into him at a vegetarian restaurant in NJ, about 5 or 6 years ago. OMG he was SOOO amazingly gorgeous. My friends and husband were laughing their heads off at me that I was so in awe of a 'soap opera actor.'

GA is supposed to be playing a DA on Y&R shortly

Grants scenes were amazing.He is really a superb actor.He fleshed out the complicated character of Phillip Spaulding beautifully.He showed the similarities between Alan and Phillip.How alike they really were.Alan didn't have the courage to go to war and Phillip ran away from his past.They both faced the future with dignity and courage.

He just seems like one of those actors who would be SO sweet in person.....I would just love to meet him.
