http://www.nj.com/news/ledger/jersey/index.ssf?/base/news-14/1253323508137680.xm... /> Just read this article today and it warmed my heart.....how exciting it must have been for this fan! I totally relate to how she's feeling about the demise of GL.
I've driven out that way numerous times, trying to catch the cast and crew filming (you should see the house used for the "Spaulding Mansion".....holy smokes!! I was finally lucky this past summer and spotted a bunch of them filming, and my kids and I were beyond thrilled! I live about 45 mins to an hour from Peapack-Gladstone, NJ, where GL did most of it's recent outdoor location shots.
I apologize....I went back and looked at my post and thought I had posted a direct link to the article, but it didn't do that.....instead, you will see a few articles listed and you have to click on the one that says, "Guiding Light fades to black in Peapack."

Very sweet! Does anyone know where the lighthouse was? Was it somewhere on the Jersey shore? It certainly looked like the Pine Barrens when Josh & Reva drove away.

Good morning! I, too, was wondering where those beach scenes were filmed. I grew up in southern NJ (Brigantine, which is right next to Atlantic City), one block from the beach, so I figured it wasn't in NJ because all the beaches I'm familiar with don't have those big boulders and such (that reminds me more of up north, like Maine or somewhere).
But.......I'm not the least bit familiar with central/northern NJ beaches (even though I live in northern NJ now), so what do I know? LOL
Well, lo and behold, someone on another GL forum said that those scenes were filmed at Sandy Hook (I've only been there once, to be honest), and that the Sandy Hook lighthouse was also used for the scenes with Reva and Josh. I had no idea that any beaches in NJ had those big boulders like that!!! LOL

Yes, the scattering of the ashes was filmed at the beach at Sandy Hook, NJ. The lighthouse that they used is also at Sandy Hook.
