it was a couple days ago, there was an older woman--I had no idea who she was. Does anyone have a clue?

Are you speaking of Jeanne Cooper from "YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS"? She was greated by Vanessa. She and Christian LeBlanc crashed the finally because they wanted to part of history on the longest running Soap In History. Go to Guiding Light @ CBS and there is a video of the process.

Yep that's it! She had some young looking stud with her. No wonder I had no idea. I've never watched Y&R, and I'm not starting now! AT least I am confident that I ireally did know all the REAL GL characters that have showed up in the last few weeks.

Jeanne Cooper & Christian LeBlanc(he was the Emmy winner for lead actor this year)did NOT portray their characters from Y&R.Star320 is correct they were able to be part of the finale because they were in the right place at the right time. They were there because of the signifcance of GL's departure and it was their way of saying goodbye as actors. As a fan of GL & Y&R I thought it was great. I originally thought they were going to be playing their characters from Y&R and maybe have found katherine'S long lost daughter in Springfield, but no. Oh, wel I just LOVED, loved, loved, loved, loved the finale. ALWAYS.................................................

Mrs. C and Michael were a refreshing change...and that they were playing other characters was hilarious...Michael in particular.
