Guiding Light - MESSAGE BOARDS

They really tricked me those writers......but in the end I was completely satisfied with how they ended the show, especially with the last word being "always"...from Reva to Josh, Thank you GL!!!!!!!!!!

I have my DVR set for today. I never really watched GL much but after 72 years I just have to watch the last eppy. It is very sad indeed about GL and all the soaps in general. I hope this does not start a trend.

I just mentioned this in another post.....I loved it, too...the only thing I wish they would have done was at the very end, fade to black while showing Bert Bauer's picture or the other old timers like HB Lewis, Henry Chamberlain or Roger Thorpe.

I'm heartsick that the show has come to an end.

I had been preparing myself for a long while now that things with Josh and Reva would probably not end as I hoped they would.I was pleasantly suprised.I am VERY happy that there was a happy ending for them and for almost all the characters.That was a good way to end their stories.Happy and contented.

I will miss Springfield and all our beloved characters.

What a wonderful way to end such a wonderful show! I am still crying! I can not believe it is gone but I will never forget the memories. Thank you cast members for giving us your all during the end of this show. And I for one enjoyed the Always at the end between Josh & Reva. It's the way this show should have ended. Best of luck to all the GL cast. Always!

I liked the ending, I thought they might break the 4th wall and speak to the audience and say goodbye.

When Josh and Reva were driving off and they showed the light house and then the words "THE END" the waterworks started and haven't stopped. I am really going to miss it.

GREAT Ending

I feel closure too, the way that it ended.

With a big sigh....I can say I do have a smile on my face. I finally got closure on GL today.

I have watched since 1956, but the last ep, IMO, was beautifully done. I liked the fast forward to a year later.

The final day that I have dreaded for months is over, and I can say to the writers...kudos, job well done!

PS~~~But, I can not say truthfully, if Monday at 2:00 I will not disolve into a river of mush.

To all the actors, from the beginning to the end *applause*, for each of you gave me beautiful memories of Guiding Light that CBS or anyone can never take away from me!

GL lives forever in my heart, and in that special place called my imagination....

I'm still trying to come down from doing the HAPPY DANCE and thanking TPTB for FINALLY letting our GL family end with everyone being HAPPY. Everything looked like to me that most characters were going to get the happy except for JOSH, but they came through. I was especially happy with all the little nuances in the flash forward and I want to list them but not everyone has seen the finale yet. I was very, very, very, very, happy and THANK YOU TO ALL the cast members who have given us(the fans) so very much throughout the years. And somewhere the actors/actresses who have passed that were in this wonderful show are smiling, I have a feeling. As for closure, I finally have it because of the happy. So many times we "get" the dark s/l, murder, mayhem, and crazy and soap fans want HAPPY,LOVE, and ROMANCE. THANK YOU, again.
