Guiding Light - MESSAGE BOARDS

So, here's a thought...and I haven't kept up with the board lately, so it might have been discussed, but nevertheless....

Why don't we start a grass-roots movement to have The Guiding Light rerun on SoapNet? There is enough material that crosses generations that the timing should mean nothing.

If we flood SoapNet with email, phone calls, text messages, and "old fashioned" hand written letters we might be able to breathe a new life into the old girl. Thoughts? I've already sent in my reasons and I think that it might just work. The hard part will be finding the archives and getting the permissions, but for God sake's they can do it for Ryan's Hope, why not GL?

This could start a whole new generation loving the universe that we already know and love ane we can still get our daily fix, plus I'd be willing to bet that the majority of the posters here don't know what was going on in 1952 and it would fill in a lot of gaps and get a lot of people to understand the backstories....

ABSOLUTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY WAIST AIR TIME WITH RYANS HOPE. IF WE CANT HAVE GUIDING LIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING, THEN HOW ABOUT SOME OLD SOAPS CALLED "TEXAS" OR " SUNSET BEACH". BUT NOT RYANS HOPE YUK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I keep reading rumors that TVland is going to run GL (reruns) starting in May 2010, but I can't find anything definitive on it. Maybe it is just wishful thinking, but I've seen it more than once already. Even if that happens..it won't be the same.

if guiding light going to tvland then proctor and gamble must had sold there right to tvland and they no longers own the soap and have ownerships of it, there copyright for it ends in 2010 and so does the licensing for it to which means anyone can come in and pick it up if they want to and they must have been in a hurry to get rid of there old guiding light tapes and they got rid of it to tvland so if they did that they apparently have no interested wanting to own the rights to the soaps so they gave it up and away to tvland
