Guiding Light - MESSAGE BOARDS

I'm almost 51 years young and have been watching GL as long as I remember. My grandmother and I used to discuss storylines and characters like they were REAL and our NEIGHBORS or something. She left us in '85 and I'm glad she's not here to see this sad day coming.

I read on the net yesterday that most if not all soaps will be gone in the next 2 or 3 years because of the lack of interest by the younger generations. This article said that reality TV was the direction television was going. Well, I'm glad I have an extensive DVD collection because I'll take FICTION over REAL LIFE anyday.

To Guiding Light.....good luck to all the actors, writers and anyone that has anything to do with it. To all us viewers, today will be very sad. I feel like I'm losing part of my own family.

For all the people who haven't embraced soap operas, all I can say is you've missed out. There's more to television than reality.

I'm deeply sad today. Guiding Light has been like family to me. I feel like I'm falling apart today.

Its kinda like Buzz pulling the plug on Coop.

I hope you folks will still be here on this forum. I'm just so broken up about losing GL.

Count me in, too! We will have a lot to talk about after the light is over. We can all soap grieve together.
