Another middle of the night thought- After Thursdays show, and another boatload of tears, I began feeling better about losing Alan when Fletcher walked in, and Ed went to see Holly.
Everyone is getting on with their lives in such a positive way. For those of you who don't remember Fletcher and Alex, or the Ed and Holly saga, I feel bad. What a wonderful period!
All that's left for me is the Josh/Reva/Jeffrey storyline, and I don't think it will end the way I wish. After 35 years of Josh and Reva, I can't let go. After hearing and knowing Josh's intent, it just felt right. Reva's character though is just up in the air for me, and I think the writers should have left Jeffrey gone. I enjoy his character, but after the weeks of review and the parade of old characters, I think I've left his storyline behind. I know today will be bittersweet for all of us. Good Luck.

I agree, Spacenut. They are wrapping up the storylines nicely, for the most part. But the one that matters most, looks like is going against history and tradition. What I have decided to do, in my own little world, is to make up my own ending with Josh and Reva. Since this is fiction, I can write it any way I want, right? I am sad to say goodbye to my "story" that I have loved, sometimes hated, but always followed for almost 30 years. It's like losing my best friend. At least we know that Phillip and Beth will get re-married! And I'm glad to see Holly and Ed and Fletch and Alexandra getting back together. I don't care for Frank and Blake, but I'll just go with it. I wish they would have at least mentioned Alan Michael, Zack, Harley, Marah, and many more. So long Guiding Light. Thanks for the great memories.

what a great idea bigdawgmama. I think I will make up my final storyline for Josh and Reva. It seems you and I have been watching the same amount of time. Fletch was a great and wonderful surprise though.

OK,So I'm replying to my own post, but after seeing the ending I had to come back and say A BIG FAT THANK YOU TO THE WRITERS!! What a terrific ending. That was the best. I only wish it could have lasted hours and hours, so that we got to see more in detail. But the fact that Josh and Reva are back together made it all worthwhile!! I'm so happy and Rick and Mindy are back together, Blake and Frank are ok together, Remy and Christina and baby Clayton, Olivia and Natalia and Francesca, Mallet and Dinah together as they should have been all along, Marina and Shayne and Henry together, and of course all the pairing up that happened a few days ago. But best of the best of the best-Phillip and Beth together and Josh and Reva. Hot Damn! Now I'm happy. I'm sad that GL is over, but happy that it ended the way it did. It was great!!

I just watched the final episode and did like I have for the past two weeks I cried, but they were happy tears, I to want to thank whoever for the Josh and Reva happy ending, (I had given up hope) and for the fast forward 1 year, if it had to end at least they gave us some closure. And yea for the four musketeers back together, I was worried that Rick was going to be the only one left standing alone..

Was a nice bow, with exception of Jeffery. Was little surprised didn't get a Harley mention.

Or what happened to Leah, Rick and Mel's daughter?

I too say Thank You to the writers. Although I never wanted GL to end, everything wrapped up nicely, except, I didn't want Alan to die.

BRAVA!BRAVA!BRAVA! GREAT POST! Thank you for mentioning the name of little CLAYTON. Was that for CLAYTON HAMILTON SPEAKS? Am I remembering his name right, or have I gone crazy? I love some of the names of the kids BERT, HENRY, FRANCHESCA, SARA, CLAYTON, & COLIN. I know I missed a few but it was great to see a shout out to some of the characters that were no longer with us. GREAT ENDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I have to say i wasn't expecting either the JOSH/REVA or RICK/MELINDA SUE pairing but loved them BOTH.

Totally agree. I was actually quite mad they killed off Alan. I am still not sure how I feel about it, but I really liked the one year later and the "Elaine" reference regarding D&M

What is the "Elaine" reference from Dinah and Mallet? I guess I don't remember what it is or just never knew. I too will miss GL. I have been watching it since 1955!
