Guiding Light - MESSAGE BOARDS

Who decided to end Guiding Light. I was born into this soap. While my parents worked, my grandmother took care of me. Mon thru Fri Guiding Light, The Edge of Night, & as The World Turns would be on the radio. When they all went to TV they would be on. As I got older, I would sit in this really comfy chair with my grandmother & watch these soaps. Even as a teenager I would run the half block to get home so, granny could tell me what happened. Summer was great cuz I.d get to watch our 3 favorite soaps. My heart is broken that CBS is taking it off the air. If you need to get rid of something, get rid of the Price is Right or that 3:00am Talk Show

get ride of judge Marilyn and judge Judy there rating is down its going to be really strange not having guiding on TV and next year they will be axing as the world turns apparently it was proctor and gamble who ended it with CBS cause they didn't renewal thee contract with CBS, there contract with them is up tomorrow and its ends tomorrow to .

OMGOODNESS...that is exactly my thoughts..It was my grandma who introduced me to GL...I would always go spend summers with her, and we would watch it together..My biggest memories of Gl as a young child, are REVA. She is what I would think of when hearing GL, and she(my grandma) died 3 years ago, and in some way, I still felt connected to her as I would watch "our" soap...It's so sad to see it go, I'm still in shock. I don't know what I'm going to do now, but I can promise you it won't be watching w/e game show they put on in GL's slot What makes me even sadder is that everyone is coming back to SF. Maybe if they would have done that months ago, it wouldn't be going off now...Guiding Light, you will be truly missed

question now that guiding light is gone doesn't there license and there copyrights expire with the show ending and anyone if they wants to can buys the rights to the soaps and that proctor and gamble are no longer interested in hanging on to the rights to the soaps anyone can pick it up with by buying the rights to it from them or how does that work im just wondering, that's all because i know a lot of TV show where made into big screen movies with different producer and writers and there not the same writers and producer who did the TV show that did the movie that any producer or writers can take a tv show that's was cancell and make a movies out of it for the big screens.

Personally and I mean no offense to anyone else... but why GL over Bold and Beautiful.... I have never ever ever been able to get into that soap.... None of my friends watch it. The writers should have listened to the fans .... if it ain't broke don't fix it. I know EW was upset but come on...things weren't working on that show for a while... the fans spoke most of their displeasures over story lines and they still kept on with them. New writers and going back to what worked could have saved GL.... JMO

I tend to agree. I'm not sure why because there were still good storylines but after Jonathon left town it seemed like the whole dynamic changed a little. I found myself hanging on until the next time he came back to town. These last scenes between Jonathon and Reva are breaking my heart.
