:( I am going to need some serious therapy now after losing my family for more than 30 yrs. I am a stay at home mom and this has been my family for some time now. What am I to do? I love the new time slot of 10am for the east coast. I hope you guys will help me.

Group therapy is available here on the message board. We need to stick together now! We"ll be here for you.

The serious viewers will all be right here to help each other thru a time that we did NOT want to happen....we would not be human if this did not hurt us to our cores, like losing a good friend. Heck, I know more about some of these people on the show than I do about family members....that might not speak too highly of me..........or maybe my family!! Anyway, we are going to be sad for some time, or maybe as you say hangin, in total denial....thanks for the support!!

Everytime I tried to tell my husband what happened on GL, I just bursted into tears! And no, he didn't laugh at me, he used to watch when he worked 3rd shift many years ago...glad that he understands that to me, it is like grieving when a family member dies.

These last three days will be hard to watch

I'm not so sure therapy is even going to help...I'm just so sad.

I had just posted on another post that I am going to need some serious therapy. Growing up with GL, I guess that I always took it for granted that it would always be on. I never thought about it ever ending. Even after it was announced that GL would end Sept. 18, I was in denial. As the past weeks have gone by, a big wave of reality suddenly hit me. I will no longer have the family that I grew up with. As Shorty1943 posted, I knew more about some of the people on GL than I did my own family. I feel the same way. I was with the people in Sprinfield everyday. I have family that I see maybe once or twice a year. I think that is one of the reasons that it hurts so much.

Ya'll are expressing my exact feelings. If I am going through one of the stages it is still anger cause I am mad as hell. I too watched this show with my grandmother and mother. My grandmother got to meet Rick when they did a guest appearance at the Savannah mall some 23 or so years ago. She fell ill a few months later, but folks I tell ya... she loved Rick and he was so gracious and kind to her. It was her birthday. You would have thought she had won the lottery, met the president and won the nobel peace prize all rolled together. God, I am going to miss Springfield so much.

Count me in for the therapy!! I am in denial too that we won't see this show ever again!!! As a watcher of 49 yrs. I too feel like I am losing a part of my life that has meant so much to me. I too watched Search, Edge of Night, Secret Storm!! It didn't seem as sad when they went off though. I just hope the actors know how much they have come to mean to many many people!!! I wish them well!!!

I agree with each of you. I have been so down here lately. Yesterday I just cried. My daughters looked at me like I was crazy. I couldn't help it. This show has been a part of my life for a long time. I just hate that it's almost over. It just makes me so mad. These characters have touched my life in so many ways. How depressing!!

When I was at lunch at my parents' house, my dad (94 years old & perfectly coherent & mom's 90) said, "it's not just a soap opera, it's a way of life." you know something???? He's exactly right! Those "people" at CBS could have let it go at least until Dec 31 - why now????? I cried for 10 min after it ended today. Friday won't be pretty...
