Guiding Light - MESSAGE BOARDS

There is a chance that they will pick up GL. I emailed them last week and they said they were going to forward the email to the department that makes the decisions to pick up shows. Please email them as well, we can not let the Light go out!

Unfortunately, and we are saddened by this, but GL is not being picked up by another network, as they will air their finale episode Friday September 18 and have worked their storylines to reflect the end. Soaps.com Admin

While, I would love to believe the show can come back. They quit filming over a month ago. The sets have been struck and the actors released from their contracts. That includes the crew also. The show is over, sorry.

they can always rehire the actors and resign them and rebuilds the sets and rehired writers and the crews and if they haven't found work else ward they could go back its not that impossible

That would be a wonderful thing if WE or any other network
would pickup GL. So what if the actors get a few months off before they get to go back to a show and co-workers that they love. They need a break after what they have been through. Sets can be rebuilt, new stories can be written, they could name the show "The NEW Guiding Light." How about a Thanksgiving or Christmas show?

There is a rumor going around that you guys are thinking of saving Guiding Light. As a loyal fan of nearly 38 years, I beg of you to please please please save Guiding Light. Not all viewers are old, not all viewers are young... we are a mixture and we want our beloved soap saved. I don't know how viewing is counted but I can assure you that you would not regret picking up GL. Please be the voice of us small people and help us to slay this giant that wants to kill our town of Springfield.

i have a question if a TV show is cancel and goes off the air
and someone else want to pick it up and put the show back on the air who owns the rights to that TV show the first producer who had the show when its got cancel or the second producers who put the TV show back on the air.--who owns the rights to that TV show

No matter what we can NEVER stop trying! I'm going to send an email to them now! Spread the word. The more people we get the better!

if proctor and gamble no longers own the show someone could come along and buy the rights to the soap since proctor and gamble don't want to be in the soap biz anymore they could sell the soaps and another company can put the show on air all they have to do is rehire the cast back and the crew and new writers for the show,

I guess I am one of those fans that will put a candle burning on my window sill for my GL to return. I will not give up hope, this show is an icon, any station would benefit from bringing it back, even more so now, look at all the press it received. I will send my request to WE tv and pray for their return.
