Yeah I agree, she should have known when she started turning straight women gay that it would have a negative affect on the show. I mean you have three women who less than a year ago were sleeping with men and showed absolutely no lesbian tendencies and now they are full on lesbians. I'm not saying this to offend anyone, I'm just saying it is hard to accept such contradiction in the writing. Remember when Doris was making goo goo eyes at Grady and they almost put Doris and Buzz together at one time. In my opinion it takes away the writer's and the show's credibility.

The problems started way before the move to Peapack and O & Nat!!!!! The move to Peapack gave the show another 18 months. Did you watch 60 Minutes? They covered the decline of all soaps.

I missed it on CBS. I set my DVR and of course it did'nt record the segment because tennis ran over into the time slot. Thankfully, I checked Youtube because I had hoped some of the wonderful fans of Guiding Light had posted it and they did. Thanks so much. It was a very nice spot. I had to cry because it was so sad to see all the actors talking about how much the show has meant to them. I still hate the fact that the show was cancelled and I will never forgive CBS for it.

Tennis happened to me as well, needless to say I am not happy. It recorded Mr. Obama and whatever the second segment was but stopped just short of GL..........once again CBS made sure no one missed one single serve of tennis, or a grown woman throwing her temper tantrum about a bad call............so happy to get to see that, why on earth would me or anyone else want to see the last piece done on our wonderful Guiding Light??

I just wanted to say, I loved the tribute. I thought it could have been a little bit longer but overall i enjoyed watching the old recaps of the show! I cried and cried when they all finished the final scenes. We all are going to miss GL but we all need to accept the fact that it is ending soon. At least we are lucky to have had a show this special to us for this long. Its been a LONG time! This could stay the longest running soap forever if all the talk about the future of soaps is true. As they all said at the Emmy's "All good things must come to an end." This was a very good thing for many families. We are so lucky to have had this kind of soap that has helped many different families in many different ways. I'm going to continue posting on the board and I hope everyone else will too!

I felt the tribute to GL was great! I was lucky enough to adjust the recording time on my VCR before I had to leave for a couple hours. With all the sports channels that we have why don't they show the tennis matches on one of them.
Anyway, I have a question on what the networks are planning to show the daytime audiences if they decide to can all the soaps. That would be a really stupid move!! As I said on another post my TV will be a dark plastic box during the daytime if there isn't a time frame for a little escapism.
After all the "now" senior citizens are TV viewers and consumers too!!!! Thank you again 60 minutes for the nice tribute you gave GL!!!!

"After all the "now" senior citizens are TV viewers and consumers too!!!!" I agree with you especially those of us who have worked hard all our lives and now in our retirement deserve to watch our favorite soaps. I watch when my kids were young and when I went back to work I kept up on holidays and sick days and with the invention of VCR's I taped. I suggest we show them a little gray power. if we boycott them for a while let then see just how much we do contribute they may have second thoughts about canceling our remaining soaps.
I will never watch CBS in the G&L time slot they can run infomercials for all I care. I did enjoy the tribute. I Thank CBS for that.
