Guiding Light - MESSAGE BOARDS

I cannot believe instead of getting better writer's and more creative storylines they are letting GL go! GL & ATWT are the two oldest soap opera's and they paved the way for many to come. CBS always makes bad decision isn't it a wonder that they loose viewer's. There are only a few shows that I watch and if they go off the air I will boycott CBS altogether.

I totally agree....DAMN YOU CBS!!!! You are taking one of the best Soaps off the air. I have been a fan of this show for many years and I'm 69 years old. What's the matter??? Is everybody getting tired????

days of ours lives got the ax to my sister in law watch that that's another soap that got the ax to it will also be going off next year on Sept 17 2010 the same time that as the world turns goes off to so there is two right there that will be going off the air at the same time,

my mother in law watches days and i sure hope it don't go off air because i was planing on picking that one up after gl is over, and i agree don't post inless you have some facts to show!!

Thank you CBS!! Thank you for looking out for our well being, I applaud you for having the courage to take a stand. The show was getting out of hand and I think CBS made a wise decision. I know there are some people who will be disappointed, but it's for the best.

I am with you I hate CBS. I will no longer watch CBS nor will I watch the big deal. I can get the Y&R on another channel. it's not like the old days when we only had 2 or 3 channels to chose from. B&B is just getting to stupid. as for ATWT I will stop watching in my time not theirs I will not go through this again it was not one of my favs. I just watched because it was on before G&L. They can play infomercials and talk shows all day for all I care. I was amazed at just how many products P&G has to many to boycott but I certainly will be buying no name products whenever I can(that's a budget decision on my part). the soaps helped make them and now they want to drop them. as for the ratings that's a crock so many people tape the shows and watch when they can. I hear that when we tape shows or catch up on the internet the show does not get included in the ratings.

CBS has pulled the plug on a very old and dear friend. I will miss you, Guiding Light.

I am incredibly disappointed. I have watched this show since I was too young to know what was going on. My grandmother and me would watch it everyday together, and we both LOVED Reva, and since my grandma died I kept up watching it to keep her close. They are letting a legacy go, the show that paved the way for daytime television. Instead of trying to save it they just gave up. It is truely heartbreaking to see it go.
