Farewell Week

Quote ncgirl: Watching the previews for next weeks "farewell happens here" had me crying! I still can't believe GL has been canceled. I have watched this show since I was a little girl - with my Mom and my Grandmother. GL is so rich in history and so many have been life long viewers. With only 1 week left I am feeling so very sad! This has been "Guiding Light" ......  I cried too Thursday (even now I'm starting to tear up) I HATE this!!!!! Why did they have to do this?????? I guess you're feeling the same as me, then, I'm 48 & been watching it off & on since about 1975! Wish we could all get together & watch the final show together - at least we'd be in good company, right?

Quote sholsten: I just about cry every time I hear the theme song "Only Love" I have the video saved from Youtube for the whole song, and I use it on my cell phone as my ring tone. Well, I didn't download the theme song, however, for the past couple of weeks I would cry when the theme started so I mute it now. I think next week we all should listen & watch the theme only because Guiding Light is in it's final week & really deserves to have viewers listen & watch. It'll be VERY hard, but I think we should do that. |

Quote Terror: I feel good about the happy endings that the writers seem to be leading us to for the finale.The loyal fans deserve that much.I just hope they do not throw anything weird in there at the end.Such as the residents of Springfield all just being characters in Coops last book.Or a beloved character getting sick and dying unexpectedly.Or some stupid "It was all a dream" scenario ala Dallas.Ugh!!Hope they do not go there.I hope they leave us with some happy memories of our beloved characters. You know, I was thinking the same thing! If they pull a "Dallas" ending that means the entire show never happened! Or a "Newhart" ending, that'll mean one of the characters "wakes up" & had the weird dream about a 72 y.o. soap opera????? That won't happen, but I DID think about that!

I also have watched Guiding Light for many years,. I have a "Guiding Light" tote bag with the original lighthouse logo on it that I bought several years ago which I use as my carry on when I travel. I even have a shot glass with 'Infierno" written on it. Does anyone remember that hot nightclub that was run by Tony Santos . I am so glad I have these few momentos . It's an emotional time for us fans. |
