Guiding Light - MESSAGE BOARDS

I haven't posted here in quite a while, but I just had to put this into words, somewhere where I know others can relate. Even tho' I know without any doubt the show has been canceled, I still find it so hard to believe. I grew up watching this show. Like many of you, I grew up watching it with my Mom. I lost her last year and as crazy as it sounds, it feels with the loss of the show it is just life's way of hitting me upside the head saying I took your Mom and slowly I'm going to take everything that ya'll did together. I know I have my memories, but for me the end of the show is just yet another loss to try to overcome and deal with. I know it was fiction, I know it was scripted, but just for so many years, that lil hour was my escape from life. Thank you to all the actors, past and present, for the many days you entertained my mom and me. The night we were losing my mom, I lit a candle and when she died I blew it out. I think I will light a candle on the last episode and do the same. I'm going to miss you GL... I'm going to mourn you and I pray that as for your future as Phillip once said to Beth.... The best is yet to come.

I so understand how you feel. GL has been a part of my life for many years. My grandmother hooked my mother on GL. My mother got me hooked and now I've hooked my daughter. WE will miss GL something terrible. The characters on this show have touched me throughout the years. I've cried with them and laughed with them. I hate the show in ending, but I wish everyone the best.
