Guiding Light - MESSAGE BOARDS

According to pur Central time TV listings tomorrow (9-7) there is no show due to the MDA telethon. This may have been causing the confusion over GL ending on 9-18 or 9-21. GL has too many things working against it.

It will be replaced by tennis on Monday and then one other day this week where I live in Texas!!!! There will still be tennis after September 18, 2009...there will not be Guiding Light after that date.....I am not very happy about that. Had read on another post where instead of 10 remaining shows there would just be 8 because it was being taken off two days..never have been happy when it was replaced but when it is the last two weeks that it will be on the air, really makes me angry....oh well, just bet you that CBS could care less if I am angry or not!!

You have that right or they would show us the other two shows. I wonder if it will mess up some of the s/l endings. I hope not. I have decided to save the remaining shows and I'll have them for reminiscing.

Finally found the dates, the 7th and 9th it will be taken off for tennis..sometimes here they show it at like 2am or some such silly time, which would be wonderful, I would just tape it, at least that way we would not be cheated out of the program for two days. Guess it is a done deal, so no need to cry, but still ticks me off!!!

I hope that it doesn't screw it up either. I mean Mallet is suppose to find dinah! And I also hope that they do not start tuesday's off like they showed Monday. Mabye if we are lucky they will post them on cbs.com!

Actually, the show is not on for two days, Monday (Labor Day) and Friday. It's not taken off for the Jerry Lewis Telethon cause that doesn't start until later. It's taken off for the tennis tournament and we aren't missing two shows that were taped. GL knows that CBS has the rights to the tennis tournament and taped with the knowledge that they would be pre-empted those two days. The story will end like they planned it. We have 8 more shows left.

Okay well at least we know that know. I just wish we had about 6 months left of the show instead of 8 days. It is so sad!

I hope I won't lose a third day. Our local TV guide shows the telethon runs all afternoon. There is no mention of Tennis today. If this is the case and there is two days of tennis; we will lose 3 days of GL here. CBS has got to be sorry!

The telethon is still on both of the CBS affiliates here and WGN. I just remembered on the past couple of preempts that CBS still put up the show online. I'm waiting and hoping with my toes crossed.

Sholsten, CBS carries the tennis tournament, and so no show for Monday and Friday. The telethon here is on Fox, but if it is on CBS in your area, you still have the no show for today and no show Friday for tennis. Either way, GL prepared for this long ago, they know what is prempted and when.

Several years ago Channel 2 (the former CBS station before it became a FOX station ) aired the Jerry Lewis telethon on Labor Day but Channel 62 (our CBS station since the end of 1994) aired tennis also on Labor Day so we are down to 7 good episides of Guiding Light (Keep the LIGHT on)

Crystal Chappel, just posted on Facebook that GL didn't write episodes for the two days of this week, knowing that the tennis would preempt it. We are NOT missing any episodes. Wow, it's nice to have a cast member say what I have been saying on the boards!
