If Alan gives Philip his bone marrow are they going to kill him off? Ed said someone who is healthy could die ....Alan has a bad heart. Don't get me wrong that would be a great ending...kill off the king of mean...but I thought I read that Rick died suddenly. How many bodies will they be burying in the next 10 days..Oh one more thing if Alan does die it will finally be safe for Sara to come home to her mommy.

pbart13:Yes,I think Alan will sacrifice his life to save Phillip. Thus proving his love for him once and for all(something Phillip has always doubted) and atoning for his sins.It is a classic tale of redemption and love.I have always loved to hate Alan and that is a cool ending for a cool villian. And yes, this should mean that Sara and Jonathan are safe to stay in Springfield with their family for good.It will also mean that the Spaulding family can finally get out from under Alans control and heal.

I do not want Alan to die. I love him. Maybe he can survive and just become a big softie, but I want Alan Spaulding to live on and on and on and on...........

Also, Jonathan is headed back to Springfield with Sarah now to see her mommy. That was on Friday's episode. I also think that Alan just might sacrifice his life to save his son. I have heard the rumors that Rick dies, but nothing to substantiate it.

Would be an interesting way to end it for Alan to give his life for Philip. Of Course what would happen when Phillip has Alan coursing them to the bone. Could Phillip take over for Alan; thus allowing James to adopt Phillip's role of Golden Prince who is forever rebelling against his father. James is already making the moves on a girl from the wrong side of the tracks ala Beth.

If Alan/Ron Raines does not receive at least an Emmy nomination for his performance these last few months, especially today (9/8), something is very wrong. He has always been one of my favorites, even though his character has been a rascal at times. I'm pretty hard-boiled and do not usualy "tear up" during TV and movie performances, but today was an exception. My big kitty was in my lap as usual, and I'm afraid her fur was pretty wet after the scene between Alan and Phillip. I wish the both of them all the best.

2577Echo:I agree Alan/Ron Raines really gave an exemplary performance today.Alan's redemption at Phillips grave was a Dickens moment.Reminiscent of Ebenezer Scrooge repenting his sins at his snow flecked grave. It is satisfying to see his character finally come full circle.Bravo Ron Raines. You showed us the tender human side of a complex and sometimes reprehensible character.Alan and Phillip together at the end was touching.

Yes Alan and Philip were great today. Alan finally stepped up as a father. Over the years I've thought he was awful especially with his hand in Tammy's death. Here lately though he has shown me a more tender side. It's just sad the show is ending. What a great performance guys!!
