The scene with Blake/Cyrus/Ashlee in the room writing and then Doris is JUST STANDING there and says "hi Blake" like no-one saw her, come on. |

Quote cat1005: The scene with Blake/Cyrus/Ashlee in the room writing and then Doris is JUST STANDING there and says "hi Blake" like no-one saw her, come on. It made me remember when I quit watching: Marina received a package and tried to look like she was opening it but the box was open already with the flaps up. I'm gonna miss the old GL but this new GL is probably why it's going off the air. This is so not the reason. Maybe if you go back and read more posts, you will understand the real reason GL is going off. I don't get your point about the difference between the old and new GL. No matter, though. I love whatever I get from GL and will be blubbering at the end like everyone else. This is such a hard time. I can't even think of the right words to describe how I feel. Devastating might be a start.......... |

I think she was noticed when she came in - just being ignored. Doris isn't as well liked in Springfield. Blake was kinda giving her some attitude! |

I'm devastated too about GL going off. I feel like part of my family is dying. |

Please keep Guiding Light on ,this is the BEST soap thats on today,it is not as racy as Y&R Alan will save Phillip, I could see a triangle developing between Olivia,Natalia and Doris, Reva and Josh back together, Lizzie and Bill having a baby soon, and Ashlee finding a new boyfriend, don't forget about the Coopers Harley finally coming home and Frank and Blake getting together GUIDING LIGHT WILL SURVIVE even though it will not air on CBS |

I am devasted by the end of The Guiding Light! |

Quote shorty1943: cat1005, I agree about the difference in the old and the new...anyone that has watched it for very long knows what you mean. Ever since they changed the way they film the show, going from all indoor to mostly outdoor shots, posters have really fussed. I read the post everyday and trust me that is a lot of the reason for so many people not watching the show anymore. Myself, I loved it, we certainly do not live indoors 24/7 and it only makes sense to film some scenes outdoors..I have watched for almost 55 years, seen a lot of changes and I am very sad to see it going off the air, like losing an old friend... superstitches, I just read your post, why do you think the main reason is for the show going off the air? Whatever the main reason is, wish we could have fixed it. I know that younger people do not watch the way some of us that were raised with it do....I grew up with it on the radio and then on tv, going to miss it....I will join you in the blubbering if that is ok!! You're right, it doesn't matter what caused the "powers that were" to cancel GL. P&G didn't want to keep in the soap business, CBS felt low ratings and expenses were to blame. It all boils down to money. The writing? That honestly didn't help the ratings that were low. None of these things could have been fixed by us. The "Grown-Ups" had decided we didn't know what was good for us and they put our wishes aside. Happens all the time......... I know the writing has been so amazing during these last weeks, but that's only because all these story lines have to be brought to closure. No telling how long some of them would've been, but with only 10 more days, things have to move pretty fast. I am just sick when I think that all is going to be over. We won't see these gorgeous women and handsome men any more. The acting has been stellar. Ever put in your 2 weeks notice and felt like giving your best those last weeks? That's what is happening to our beloved actors and they are pulling out some of the most outstanding performances for us. That is such a tribute to them and I hope they know how much we appreciate it. The last shows of Guiding Light will go down as some of the most meaningful. See, blubbering already........Pass the kleenex, get yourself a beer, and sit down. I'm gonna cry in mine!!! |

I don't drink beer, but I'll fix myself a Mojito and toast all the Oldie but Goodie characters/actors that kept us watching for so many years! Almost all of the characters left are those good ones...Grady and Edmond I can't stand, but the others I like. Guiding Light, you were indeed a good show! They can never replace you in my heart. BTW, are they putting out a video or something of the last days/months of GL? Thank you to all the actors and actresses we watched for so long! And to all the writers and producers, etc. who stayed faithful to the true spirit of GL. Goodbye and good luck to them all! Whatever will I do with that hour AFTER THE END! I have no clue! |

i just read that Dr Phil pull in less rating than guiding light and that guiding light pulls in more than Dr Phil and they still ax it why don't they give Dr Phil the ax to since he does worst than guiding light |
