I left very early on Thursday morning, got picked up by John Driscoll's girlfriend at the airport and we spent the rest of the day waiting on John to finish picking out girls for a role on Y & R. They expected 250 to audition and 850, (yes 850) showed up. He dragged in around 8:15 p.m. and then we went out to dinner. He was really tired, went to work at 7:00 a.m. and had to be back on Friday morning to reduce 50 girls down to the winner. He got to the Y & R dinner about 1 hour before it started. He looked great, though and had a long line of fans, the entire time and was the LAST actor to leave the autographing area. He took me back to my motel and then I started on Bold and the Beautiful events the next day. Patrick Duffy (Bobby Ewing on Dallas) showed up and surprised everyone, o.k. I was drooling. It was terrific to get to talk to Rick Hearst (x-Alan Michael) I hadn't had the opportunity for over 10 years, we got to catch up and now have each other's email. I met several actors on the show that I had never met, which was really interesting for me. We got to see the clip for best show that aired tonight for B & B and it was really good. Food pretty good, ought to be for the price we had to pay. More later, is anyone is interested. |

Well I can only speak for myself but I would love to hear more. That would be so awesome! Do you know if any ppl from GL auditioned? Or can you not any of that? |

96 John didn't mention any GL girls auditioning, but Bonnie (Daisy) and Caitlin (Ashley) were in town and staying with John and his girlfriend and they both had other auditions while I was there. More than 25 (I counted) GL cast members were in town, they had a party on Saturday, but I was at the Bold and the Beautiful events, and then they all got on stage for the Emmy presentation of the GL tribute. I did talk to a couple of them on the phone between events. It was a really busy three days and I left for L.A. at the end of my first week back at school (which is usually not good) and I was really tired. Looking at Patrick Duffy, however perked me up.!! Everyone is still bummed out about the show cancelling. The only really good part was Jeff winning for supporting actor, that made me really happy. |

I also re-connected with an old friend from the past, Eddie Peck who played Victoria's husband Cole on Y & R. I have known Eddie for many years and been in his fan club for many years. His fan club president Peggy Goldsmith is a good friend of mine. However, in the past two years she moved out of state and I lost touch with her and she dropped doing the club. So I was in the lobby of the hotel during a three hour break between B & B's events and the final one with Joshua Morrow (Nick Newman on Y & R) and Daniel Goddard (Cane Y & R ) when 2 girls came up and sat near me. I overheard them talking about going to the next event and coming back for Joshua. I asked where they were going next, cause nothing was left but Joshua that I knew of. They were going to Eddie Peck's fan club dinner, I asked how much and it was more than I had with me. So I asked if they would mind taking him a note from me. They said that they would. And an hour later Eddie called, and now we are back in touch with each other. I was really happy. The girls came back for the last event and came up and said" Wow, you must be really good friends, cause we gave him your note and he read it and he said "excuse me I need to make a quick call to a friend." Funny how some things work out. |

Eddie Peck is sooooo cute. |

You are just so lucky to know a lot of the actors. |

96 Eddie is cute and the nicest person to know. I know just how lucky I am to know so many of them and I try really hard to be a good friend back to them and respect their privacy on the boards. But sometimes it's really hard for me, and it's a little confusing sometime to separate the person from their character cause I am in so much awe of anyone who can act, unlike me. But you have to realize that I got started in the soap world 20 years ago and with that many years of events, etc. you would know many of them too. I'm just fortunate that I have been able to go to all of the fan club things and get to know so many of them. Last night watching the Emmys on t.v. at home, it was funny cause I had been with a large number of them for two days and talking on the phone and I realized that there are not very many left for me to meet for the first time! It's a great hobby to have, believe me. |

How did you get started doing what you do? |

PelphreyPosse, I am really going to miss reading your postings. Whenever I see your name I read your post. I know it is going to be enjoyable reading. I also know everything I read from you will be the truth. I very seldom write but I wanted you to know how much I have enjoyed your posts. |

Thanks, BCTennessee, I enjoy posting about my visits with the actors and hope everyone enjoys reading them. I hope this board continues to stay here and keep posting, GL might be ending but we don't have to. |

Sherrigirl, you asked how I got started in this. I'm trying to think how I can quickly tell this but it would be hard. I started going to fanclub events in L.A. in the early 90's because I was a nanny for a Sony Music executive here in Nashville, and two of her best friends were actors on Y & R and B & B. Jess Walton (Jill on Y & R) and Kimberlin Brown (Sheila B & B). When they would do personal appearances they would fly into Nashville and spend the night at her house to visit and then fly out to do their p.a.'s. Since I watched both shows that was really neat for me. Then the next year, my boss flew me out to L.A. for my birthday and both actresses took me to work with them on the sets. I met more and then started doing this once a year, fanclub gatherings in L.A. |

I loved him as Bobby on Dallas and then I watched him on Step to Step.

Bizzie, funny that you asked that. I had met Patrick Duffy 25 years ago when he was playing Bobby Ewing on Dallas. I was working for Mickey Gilley at the time and Charlene Tilton who played Lucy on Dallas was married to Johnny Lee who worked for Mickey. Charlene knew I was a Patrick Duffy fan and invited me and a bodyguard who worked for MG to the Southfork ranch while they were taping and we had lunch in a trailer with Patrick and Charlene. I was so dumbfounded to be there with him that I don't think I spoke more than 4 words the whole time. At the luncheon I told him about it, and he laughed and said "Well, you can talk now, I see." I told him, "Not really, I'm still in awe". He was really great and still gorgeous, silver haired the only change. I was so happy to get to see him again. I always loved Dallas. |

That is so funny about the first time you met Patrick. My husband and I go to several of Trace Adkins concerts a year so he(my husband) told me that I should try for a meet and greet. I am like why would I do that. I would probably just stand there looking stupid and not say a word. And, yes, Patrick is gorgeous.

Bizzie, it helps if you remember that other than being well known to the public and being richer than you are, they are just people. Once I got that in my head, I can talk to anyone, (well Patrick was the exception, and come to think about it so was Bill Medley of the Righteous Brothers, my high school favorite musical group.) But mostly, I think I could talk to anyone from the President on down, cause I have met hundreds and hundreds from working in the music business with ALABAMA to working in the soap world. Just open your mouth and start talking, Trace used to play in a bar down the street from where I lived then, and I used to go see him play every Friday night, Tilly and Lucy's. He's really easy going and a perfect place for you to start your new celebrity hobby. Go for it, girl. They actually love to see someone NOT IN AWE of them that wants to chat. Most are very friendly and accomodating, there are a few that are exceptions to the rule. |
