This Mallet and Marina sl is so unbelievable. Unless he is itching for his past life I cannot see this man walking away to allow Shayne to be daddy to a baby he (Mallet) loves.

Makes absolutely now sense to me, either!!

He seemed like he loved Henry more that Marina did a few short weeks ago.

I hate Mallet more and more each day!

Mallet, I can't find the right words to describe him. What a jerk!!! I say jump in bed with Shane Marina, quickly!!! Mallet has turned into a dog. What man would leave his wife whom he loves and baby that he loves and step out of their lives? This character has turned to mush! What a ruination of a strong character. Well, he used to be, not anymore....

This storyline makes no sense and it's kinda coming out of left field. I think we haven't seen the last of Mallet. I think he'll either end up somewhere with Dinah OR b/c this is a soap, he'll happen across Jeffery and they'll take down Edmund together. But that's all guessing, I know nothing.

Ok now I've found a thread with people who are actually thinking like I am! This s/l is completely unrealistic, and makes Mallet look like such an unbelievably selfish jerk! It's like none of the writers have children of their own, otherwise they would know that a man doesn't just hand his child over to someone (for no real good reason!) after falling in love with him and taking care of him for all this time. Ok here you go Shane, it's been nice, but it's all gotten a little too uncomfortable for me so I'm going to desert my family and get the heck out of here!

I'm so confused by Mallet's actions that I emailed Rob yesterday to ask him what is going on. When he stops laughing at me (I never ask about story) I'm sure he will come back with something. I asked if when he left, that was it for Mallet or if he would return before the final tape. I was afraid to ask too much for fear he wouldn't tell me anything. He's a big subscriber to the wait and see it philosophy. I just hate that, I'm a want to know it now type!

Again, great actors but CRAPPY writing.
The only way they could "save" Mallet in our eyes is to have him team up with Dinah and go after Edmond and find Jeffrey and Jonathan.
But to me, it sounds like penis envy.
Remember when Mallet was stoic, esp when he went deaf and was with Harley? Now, Mallet is an inept cop who fears that he's not man enough to be a husband and father.
Another case of writers forgetting the story. IMO

They really turned him into a total boob. What's wrong with a baby having 2 dads who truly love him.

Yeah I know this whole thing with M&M and S&D just doesn't make sense. Unless it all starts right where it began Edmund! I mean you can tell that Mallet loves Marinah and henry but why does he leave them? Isn't it bad enough that he leaves but no he has to go to a whole new counrty! Why? I mean there was probably a job in at least the U.S. Why does everything end up around Germany? I hope Mallet finds Dinah but takes her back home and Marinah gives Henry to Shayne and Dinah to take of. But who knows. I would really like to know if anyone ever does know something!

I am truly confused with the 360 that the character has done. I still like Rob (Mallet) as an actor though. If the reason he left the show at this point was for another gig, I wish him all the best. I hope he does resurface to help Jeffery and Jonathan get Edmund in the end! But as the characters have said before they are given a script and a job to do like it or not! It is much like working at any job, sometimes you wonder what the boss is thinking...then you go about your task and hope for the best!!!

I haven't been able to wrap my head around this SL for the longest time.....good to see I'm not alone!

Is it just me or is the ONLY thing remotely interesting about the M&M couple is their break up? I gotta admit I felt something during the breakup/goodbye/move out scenes....I almost felt bad for Mallet's character, but then I remembered the months of tortue M&M put me through and I can no longer feel remorse.

I think a much more interesting way to have Mallet leave is for a blonde disguised in sunglasses and a hot car to show up and vroom Mallet onto a new life......we all know Dinah & him are gonna meet up again together soon-why not at least make it interesting?

I hate THIS Mallet. The old Mallet was much better. This one is a wus. What an idiodic reason to leave your wife. It's all just bad writing if you ask me.
