I like most of you, my heart is breaking, it is a horrible feeling that the end is near. I know some would say it's just a soap opera, but to most of us, these are our friends. I have been watching GL since a very young age sitting with my great grandmother, this was her favorite soap. I guess I was about 6, I am 50 today, how can you not feel the pain when you have been inviting these people into your home every day. It pains me to know that CBS would just get rid of an icon for what another game show, dont we have enough of those. I am angry and feel like I am in morrning. Has anyone heard if they will bring the show to another network, I knew they were talk to Lifeline and CW. I love my GL and the characters on the show, what a shame to put all that talent out on the streets, it is'nt the actors fault but the writers that couldn't grab a new audience, but us old times we remember the good days and hang on to the new. GL actors if you see this, you will always be a part of me, I will carry the memories of GL right down to papa Bauer, Beth Baurer and the rest of the crew. I will truly and whole heartily miss them all.

Ojudy, I share everything you just said. But unless there is some last minute miracle, I think GL is done. Taping is finished, most of the actors are going to L.A. for the Emmys next Sunday night, I will be seeing a couple of them before that so at least I will find out what they know. But from the ones I have talked to in the last week, it's over. All of the actors I have spoken with are just plain sad. Beth Bauer, did you mean Bert?

Yes, I'm sorry I spelled it wrong, it is supposed to be Bert Bauer. Please keep us posted on what you find out. This is too sad!! I know it's a soap but I feel like I am losing friends, it just makes you want to cry.

That is what I am doing, taping the last few weeks and saving them. I am wondering if they might put the it on dvd. That would be great. It is very depressing to know it is going off air and the show has gotten so much better. I wish they would have given it a little more time.

Like a lot of people, I have spent more than 30 years watching the Guiding Light. For many of those years, I could only watch if I was out sick, or had the day off for some reason, but I always watched when I could, and I was really happy when I got DVR and could auto record every episode (in case I missed one). Now I wish I had saved all those episodes I recorded then deleted after watching.

I think it's despicable that CBS is canning GL, but unfortunately the network geniuses don't care what the loyal fan base thinks. I can't give up CBS completely because my other favorite soap is YnR, and I am not going to stop watching it, but that will be the only show I watch on CBS. After all, it's not like anything else they air during the day is worth watching anyway...

I to am very upset, I cant believe the GL is really going to be gone!!!!I have been watching this show since I was 6 yrs.old, now I'm 50! I really do wish the writers would reconsider this?? They dont realize what effect this is going to have on a lot of peoples lives, I feel like there taking away a peice of me, I love the characters on the show/ there my second family. when I had a baddday I was always looking forward to watching this show, but no more, now we have to deal with a agme show or another stupid dr. show,,,, It justs sucksssss?

Some of the networks mentioned have said that they were not ever approched about buying GL. Someone is lying, but who? I have at least 8-10 years of the Christmas day episodes of GL and once I have some time to sit down and find all of them I will post it on here and if you send me a blank tape I will try to make you a copy.

????? Can you say "THEREPY" and lots of it... I cried so hard today when Mallot said goodbye to Henry...(Me)... that I thought I wasn't going to make it ...People laugh when I say I bought a "soap TV" for my kitchen and won't even let my grandkids watch movies on it because they might forget to set it back up to record GL. I am sooo...going to miss my TV family. It is a slow and painful torture watching them one by one say goodbye after 30+ years.
