Hi, |
polka dotted...![]() |
Don't live in your area but you can watch episodes on the shows website. They are posted the same day they air on tv. That's how I watch them when I am away at school. |

I live in Maryland also and I saw that commercial advertisement for Dr Oz premiering September 14th at 3:00 pm. It never occurred to me that Guiding Light may end here before the finale. If that is so than the CBS affiliate here channel 9 should be ashamed! That is just too mean! What, they can't wait a few more days? I will never watch the Dr. Oz Show. |

Thanks polka dotted. I'll keep that in mind. I know, pmjb. Do you think we can contact the WUSA-9 to see what the deal is? Surely they can wait another week to start yet another talk show. I mean show a little respect. I will NEVER watch it either. |

Hi pjmb, |

Quote soapzealot70: Hi pjmb, I know you live in MD and I got an update from another board. Apparently, Dr. Oz is contractually obligated to premiere here on Sept. 14. The last week of GL is being bumped to 10-11a. I've been calling USA9 for a week with no response. Glad someone was able to get this info. Set your DVR (VCR if you're ol' school). THANKS, so much for keeping me informed, I appreciate it. I am still not watching Dr Oz though! |

As well as the finale not being shown in the Mich./Flint area, now I see that I cannot bring up any of the weeks' full length previews on the Fan Cast channel? The last date to watch was Aug. 14, and not another since then (today is the 19th)....jdvermeer@comcast.net |

Neither am I, pjmb. I can't believe that it has to premiere on that exact date in that exact time slot. Isn't "The Doctors" enough? Gimme a break! Uggh! The worst of it is that if one of the moderators from the soapcentral board had not been kind enough to post the info, we'd have known nothing. It would've just disappeared and we could've been under the mistaken impression that it wouldn't air. What a slap in the face to longtime viewers. I do not like our CBS affiliate here. I think that moderator is in the DC area. Too, they keep showing that stupid commercial-even with annoying pop-ups about the premiere during the other soaps-but couldn't put that GL will be telecast in the 10-11a time slot for its last week? Nice. |

Time drawing nigh and you can't get any answers. Never even realized there could be an issue before. Have you tried to contact your local CBS affiliate? I know in a city that size you probably will get no direct response like I didn't. Don't know how Fan Cast works but just be on the lookout for possible time shifts. They claim Dr. Oz has to premiere on Sept. 14 @ 3:00 due to "contractual obligations". Don't let them pull the Jedi mind trick on you in Flint, MI. GL is a time-treasured television icon and its farewell should be treated with the respect it has earned as an institution for almost eight decades! Good luck. Keep us posted. |

Oh, thank God! I never thought about that! I live in St. Petersburg, FL & I just assumed (I know, I know!) they would air the finale!!!!!!!I HOPE they do I'm pretty sure they will - but now I know I can watch it on the web, so, whew!!!!! |

Hi Annefrank, I'm 39 and have been watching GL since shortly after Watergate (definitely dating myself here). Started as a kid with my babysitter and my Grandma. Can't imagine a Light-less world. Guess I just took for granted that it was a force of nature that would always be around. I teared up at the end of the Bauer BBQ. I'm starting the last week of GL by turning 40 (still coming to grips with it) so I'm sure I'll be a reeeaal fount of emotions come Sept. 18. |

I live in N. Va. and have contacted WUSA several times and they have never had the courtesy to reply. Thanks for whoever said it will air 10-11 am but what a rip-off for all the long time fans. Now we will have 2 hrs. of crazy drs. diagnosing to folks who have no idea what they are getting into. Just what we need - another Oprah spin-off. Isn't Dr. Phil enough. I am so done with CBS, Proctor & Gamble, and now WUSA. |

I never know from day to day if I can watch the show... |
sholsten![]() |
You can watch the shows in full on cbs.com |
soapzealot70![]() |
Yes, you can watch them there, sholsten. I have done that in the past, but they only stay for @ 2 weeks. I have bookmarked epis on my computer and come back to find that the link is no longer valid because it has been removed. Just something to keep in mind if you plan on trying to keep the last epi for posterity. Will need a plan B. |
