According to the suds report, today was Gina Tognoni's last tape date, here is what he reports.

"The Suds Report has exclusively learned that today was Emmy winner Gina Tognoni’s (Dinah) last work day on GL. The former One Life actress refused to extend her GL contract until the finale on Sept. 18. At the very last minute, GL had to re-write long-term story to accommodate Tognoni’s decision to quit her popular role. There is no word yet as to why she didn't re-sign with the cancelled soap. One source speculates that the reason behind Tognoni’s shocking decision could be because she has agreed to a new soap gig. I’ll have more details next week."

According to daytime Confidential GL is planning to break the bank to get Gina to appear in the finale.

I have read on other boards that there are some fans that are displeased and upset with Gina. They think that she should have extended her contract for the extra 5 weeks. But I think she is doing what's best for herself and her career...like anyone would. She honored her original contract. She has always supported the show and talked respectfully of the TPTB. CBS did not give the actors a fair chance by trying everything that they could to save the show. Just as GL was showing promising story lines and improving immensly...they cancelled the show...leaving the actors without jobs after September. I say Good Luck to Gina and the rest of the cast!!! I hope they all find the jobs that they can sink their acting teeth into.

Fact is, no one knows why she just quit. Her contract was apparently up on Friday and she just told them no.

OLTL told her NO. She said NO to Y&R, B&B and ATWT as far as I know.

Fans have the right to be upset at the fact, not at her though. The past couple of months I feel like I've been punched repeatedly in the face by GL, and this is no different. We all know Dinah will be virtually destroyed now because EW is gonna be p!ssed.

It just doesn't sound like Gina to do this with 5 weeks left to film. But a girl's gotta do what a girls gotta do. I'll enjoy Dinah/Shaynah for the next couple of weeks, but then I'm done with GL.

Well, looking at this from a friend's viewpoint and I am a friend of Gina's, she just got married and at the same time lost her job. She is doing what anyone would do when faced with unemployment. She is job hunting. I would imagine that she has plans for that 5 weeks period because I know for a fact how much she loves the show and the actors she works with. But could any of you put sentiment in front of having a regular paycheck coming in at all times? I doubt it; she will be back for the last fanclub event and the chance to say goodbye to all of her friends. That's all you can ask of anyone. It's a business, plain and simple.

How sad,:( I used to work at Gina's veterinarians office and her family was wonderful... she is one of may favorite actresses.... I really hope she goes to another show... Good Luck Gina!!!

Frankly, I wouldn't blame any of the actors for quitting and actively seeking new employment. They need jobs just like the rest of us.

Sorry to hear Dinah is leaving before the end Best of wishes go out to Gina Tognoni. I'll miss her dearly.

I dont think its fair that some of the actors arent going to stick with the show. Now Olivia and Dinah are leaving so whats the soap going to do?! I think both the actresses should have stuck with the show in its time of need. It doesnt really show that much respect in my opinion.

I would think that Olivia and Dinah know that they haven't found a home for the light and feel the need to look out for whats best for them.If they can find work they need to go for it. Seems like there will no longer be G/L I wish them the best.As far as the light hope I'm wrong. Wish they could move to Soap Net. I would watch what ever time they would come on.
