Guiding Light - MESSAGE BOARDS

*) I am so frustrated and confused this morning. I came across an article on Daytime Confidential that stated that some writers, this including David Kriezman will be joining the As The World Turns writing team once GL wraps up on August 14. How did those rejects manage to land another writing gig after they destroyed such a beloved show like GL? And how is it they land jobs and Jill Lorie Hurst ( who is responsible for bringing Grant Alexnder back and making the stories watchable again)is offered nothing but her unemployment check? Then I have to wonder in light of Crystal Chappel joining the cast of DAYS and Gina Togonoi in talks with Y&R,what this means for GL. Is GL going to continue on a different network or is it over completely? P&GP needs to just be up front and honest that GL wont get picked up instead of getting our hopes up and lying to the faces of the cast, crew and the fans. It makes no sense to me that the ones who contributed to the cancellation of GL get rewarded with another job, and poor JLH gets nada. Its a shame. P&G's shame.

They are just throwing DK on a sinking ship....surely it will not fair well on his resume!!!

But other than that, I have to agree. Honesty would be more than appreciated at this time. IMHO, I think it is bye-bye GL and they are just praying for a Hail Mary.....

Which is a shame, this show can be more than saved. Millions of viewers(and most of us long time viewers)are being left with nothing after our long-term commitment with this show. I feel like a faithful wife of 30+ years whose husband has left her for a younger version....Betrayed and Disgusted.

I feel very cheated and I to feel that I was sucked into rumors of the show moving to another network and non of it was ever true. I really don't know how I will cope when it is over. It's kinda crazy but they almost seem like family after all of these yrs. I don't remember a time without it.

Well I guess writers getting jobs at atwt really aren't getting much since the word is it will be cancelled in a year. Maybe thats cbs plan to send bad writers over there so the have an "reason" to cancell the show

I too think this show can and should be saved. I know I'll be crying like a baby when it ends. I had my hopes that it would get picked up by another network but....doesn't look so good.

I am not sure if going to ATWT a reward, it might just be that they are under contract and just shifted to a new department---sort of speak. I used to love ATWT, it was my second fav, behind GL. I have not watched it in such a long time, I just lost all interest in the show. It sounds like if GL is not picked up, then next year, ATWT's will be the next to leave. I still have hope the GL will find a home. Even though I am not a ATWT's fan now, if they go to a new network with GL, I would watch and support that station.

Everyone seems to be so angry. I will follow GL if they move to another network, but GL never said that. I'm not sure where the hope came from, but I am a fan and I am keeping it mellow and waiting for some truth or a grand farewell..
