I was so happy to see Dr.Ed Bauer back in the storylines again. Just seeing his face, was too good to be true. Ed Bauer has been one of my all time fav characters. He is one original character since the beginning of the GL. I can remember when Bert had him. He was once called Billy, but, as he grew older, and once he entered medical school, he wanted to be called Ed. I have lived through many a heartache with this man. His loves, his alcoholism, his many marriages, his affair with Lillian. All the good stuff of a soap character. In all the years I sat and cried with him, especially when Maureen was killed, the birth of Michelle by Claire Ramsey, I have loved this man. The "old" characters made the GL a must see show everyday. Now, after 60 years later, I am still with the GL. No, I am not that old, I just started listening to the show on the radio when I was 9 years old, and now, to think it will be gone after Sept. 18th, this is hard to believe. I will hang in there until the end, and hope some other network will pick up this classic soap. Back to Dr. Ed, so now Phillip is sick, this will be a good storyline to follow now. An infectious disease, this sounds serious. Will we now see the end Of Phillip? We, all need to stay tuned until the end of our beloved story, the GL. |

I was not happy when PP first noted that it was a rumor that Phillip would be very ill. I just have to have hope that Phillip and GL will go on!! Now knowing that it has Ed in the S/L it is a good way of bringing Ed back into the picture. I hope today is a lot of Phillip and Ed. It was really nice to see the two yesterday and I am ready for more!! |

I hope Ed makes a longer appearance than Mindy did! The build up for her return did not match that fiasco of the four musketeers reunion for me...that was just one big disappointment for me! |

All of a sudden Guiding Light is beginning to seem familiar. Ed has been sorely missed. Too many of the key characters have been scaraficed for sweeps week numbers. All the ones that have left because of budget cuts, were the reason people tuned in! It is most likely too little too late, but it is nice to see the GL family again. |

Merrymary, the way that you wrote this is fantastic. I love it. You should be doing ads on TV promoting GL. You really know how to word it so that people get excited and want to watch GL. Just reading this, I could hardly wait to watch GL today. I too love Dr. Bauer. It is so good having him back again. The Bauer Family is what got alot of the loyal fans hooked on GL, so with getting the Bauer's back in Springfield, I really think that GL should have been given another chance or at least get picked up by another network. Either way, I will stay with my GL family til they have to go. Thanks again!
