Quote Hotchocolate29: Will any of you continue to watch CBS soaps after Guiding Light ends it run? Myself I stopped watching B&B/ATWT, so after GL goes I'll be down to just Y&R. A lot of views are upset at CBS for cancelling GL and plan to boycott the network.

Why turn on CBS because of your fav show going off the air. It's not the network's fault that GL's ratings took a dive! If I dtopped viewing a netowrk becuase of it canceling a show I would have no channels...(Melrose Place FOX) (Fear Factor NBC) (Savannah CW) I will still be tuning in to CBS no matter what! I love Y&R!

CBS is the channel I watch the most I think. As I have said before, I see no reason to help doom other soaps because CBS made a financial decision. I will miss GL as the rest of you but tuning out is helping no one.

I still watch ATWT and Y&R so yes I will stick with CBS. I have loved watching Guiding Light since I was 6 years old at my grandparents house but everything has it's season. So i'm hoping for some awesome sl resolution and maybe even a cliff hanger to end the show. Maybe LIzzie and Jon will get married, who knows. I hope that all the actors get onto new soaps or pursue whatever course they want. I wish nothing but the best for them all. So i will keep on with CBS and hopefully all the loyal GL fans will follow the actors who join other CBS shows.

No. Guiding light is the only soap I watch on CBS so when they turn out the light I will switch to another network. I'm not sure what I will turn on but I will be anything that's not on CBS.

After Sept 18th I will no longer watch CBS, And will longer buy P&G products. G.L. was my last soap. There are plenty of other channels to watch. So I will bid farwell to CBS all together.

Phyllist, you should try General Hospital on for size. It has a talented cast, good writing and it is funny. I had forgotten how nice it is to watch a show with some humor in it. Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) is worth watching the show by himself. The scenes this week at the bar with all of the cast trying out karoke were hilarious.
I will continue to watch CBS because they are the number one network for a reason. The best shows are on CBS. Also if every single Guiding Light fan who has ever watched the show were to boycott CBS, it wouldn't make a dent in their ratings because unfortunately only a couple of million of us are watching right now so it would be a pointless effort on our part unless you just want to feel like you made a personal statement, and if that's the case, feel free. It's like saying your favorite store at the mall goes out of business so you won't go shopping at the mall any more. Come on, it won't help anything. I think we all have to
accept the handwriting on the wall. Guiding Light doesn't seem to have any where to go after Sept. 18th. The wardrobe department is giving away all of the women's business suits, accessories, hats and shoes to an organization that helps women get jobs. The outlay of money to replace that if the show continued would be enormous just on it's own. Things change in our lives all of the time and this is just another one of those changes. We will all have our memories and this board to keep talking to one another.

I'll still be watching cbs since my fav prime time shows are on there but as far as soaps go I don't know that I want to get invested in another soap since it seems all soaps are about to disappear forever. Guess I'll just be watching hgtv at that time of day. I really stinks though I really want my GL!!!!
