Guiding Light - MESSAGE BOARDS

Well, went downtown today in the blistering heat and saw Laura Wright. (X-Cassie GL). She looks fabulous, brought her husband John with her. I was talking to Bradford Anderson, (Spinelli on GH) and she was sitting on the other side of Kimberly McCullough (Robin Scorpio GH) and she saw my GL bag I got from Ellen at the studio in April and yelled out GO GL! I thought that was kinda cute. She is so naturally beautiful, practically no makeup and just gorgeous. Was good to see her again, probably will see her tomorrow before I wind up the ABC Block party stuff. I was really glad to see Bradford as he not only is nominated for an Emmy but just got engaged to his girlfriend Kiera who I met on the soap cruise in January. It was fun but hot. One more day tomorrow to see the Divas in concert at breakfast and I'm done. Too expensive and too hot for me.

Oh I forgot, brain dead from the heat, I guess. The other actor was Greg Vaughn who plays Lucky on GH. He was sitting next to Laura and while we were talking I looked down on the table and he had my hand. When I looked over at him, he said "Hi, darlin" OMG he is so cute. He reminded me that we only have 6 more months until we go sailing again. My friend Chris who does his web site was right behind me so he knew both of us. All 4 of them are so nice to the fans. The other soap actor that I saw was Cameron Mathison, who plays Ryan on AMC. He didn't sign autographs, just hosted the show but I was around the back of the stage and when he came off of it, he saw me and came up and said "Ah, a face I recognize. I forgot you live here". He is always very nice and friendly and then he said, "my wife just reminded me the other day that we will be sailing again in about 6 months". I told him that was my line. He laughed and said that we were going to have too much fun on the next one with 19 actors going. The other actors, Rebecca Herbst (Liz GH), Bree Williamson (Jessica) OLTL and Brandon Baresh (Johnny)GH I didn't wait to see today because it is easier to catch them tomorrow. Bobbie Eakes (Crystal AMC) Kathy Briar (Marcie OLTL) and Kassie DePaiva (Blair) OLTL I will see in the morning at Kassie's fan club breakfast that I have been going to for years. The Divas are putting on a concert after breakfast. Then I'll do the autograph line for the other three (say goodbye to Bradford) and I'll be done. Thorsten Kaye (Zack AMC) had a schedule conflict and couldn't come but I saw him at Marco Island, Florida on my birthday with his wife Susan Haskell (Marty Saybrook OLTL) so I wasn't as bummed out as a lot of fans were. And yes I know how lucky I am. But it's my hobby and I have spent the last 25 or more years going to soap events and now I know quite a few of them. This will be my 3rd soap cruise and I am thinking about going on the second Rock The Soap Cruise next year. I didn't do the first on of that because it was so close to the other cruise but next year I might consider it. At my age I want to do every thing I want to do now, cause I don't know how long I can hold up to keep doing all of this. I'm not getting any younger here! But I sure don't mind sharing all of my adventures with any of you who are interested. While I was talking to Bradford, Kimberly was sitting next to him and he turned to her and said "you ever met her? and she said Nope and then he told her I was the most traveled soap fan he had ever met and that every actor knew me. (Not true, but funny the way he said it.) I had never met Her or Brandon Barash, so two new ones for me this week.

Well, Day 2 of the ABC Block Party Soap Nation event in Nashville. I went to Kassie DePaiva's fan club breakfast which this year was the Divas of Daytime. Kassie (Blair OLTL) Bobbie Eakes (Crystal) AMC and Kathy Briar (Marcy OLTL. These girls can sing their butts off! The concert was fabulous and a real treat for the ears. I had heard them before but not a full concert. I got time to visit with Kassie and Bobbie, I had met Kathy once when she came to a block party several years ago. But Kassie and Bobbie I have known for going on 20 years, when Bobbie played Macy Alexander on B & B and Kassie since 1995. They are two of my very favorite actresses in daytime. Afterwards I had lunch at Robert's Western Wear on Broadway in Nashville to cool off and then went and stood in line to meet Brandon Barash (Johnny GH) and see Rebecca (Becky) who plays Liz on GH and tell Bradford Anderson (Spinelli GH) good bye. I had to leave and take my son to work at the colusium for the show tonight so my soap weekend was finished. With the 90 degrees weather, I was finished too! So, it was good to see some that I know again, and nice to meet two that I have never met. This is how you build up knowing them, going to event after event. CMA week has about 40 thousand fans that come to Nashville for the music. The ABC block party is just a small part of the week's entertainment but it is free and worth it for a soap fan. Oh, and I got to see and talk to everyone else that I talked to yesterday, one more time, Cameron, Greg, Kimberly.
