Guiding Light - MESSAGE BOARDS

This has undoubtedly been discussed long before now, but I continue to watch in amazement as GL pretends that Natalia isn't about to go into labor any moment. Why oh why didn't they just do what soaps ALWAYS do and write her pregnancy into a story, pick a suitable stand-in, or at least put that rewrite the lesbian story so that Olivia and Natalia need to go through a horrendous "gay couple" adoption process? Geeze, no wonder GL is cancelled. If it manages to stay afloat, most of the viewers could write the stuff better from our home computers (for a small fee ).

Ive been wondering the same thing myself. It never ceases to amaze me how TPTB insult the intelligence of the viewers. I don't know if you watch ATWT too but there are only so many pashmina wraps and ponchos they can put Carly in before they have to stop showing her altogether. Maternity leave for baby #5 is right around the corner.

I so agree with both above posts. The writers need to write Nat out of the s/l for awhile until after the baby is born. Her s/l with Olivia is utterly ridiculous with Nat so obviously pregnant.

Same on ATWT with Carly. The writers need to send Carly to rehab NOW for her alcohol addition until after her baby is born. I can't get into the s/l about Carly & Craig with her so preggers either.!!!

How do you think that they will write Natalia out of the story line while she is on leave? Maybe that is why they are bring in the story line between Olivia and Josh.

I wonder how many writers are working on GL anymore...or is it lights out for a story line. Seems some of the old time GL people are coming back so a finish can be written to their stories. I feel like Im attending a mass funeral. Who cares if Natalie is showing...it doesnt matter anymore

It's getting harder and harder to cover her baby bump. If anyone who had a baby knows one thing you end up doing a LOT is resting your arms on your tummy. Nat did that a lot today...when she was not trying to cover it up that is. It's hard enough doing every day things when your that far along never mind trying to work 10 + hours a day on top of that. It is not fair to her or the baby!!!

Today she looked positively huge!!!And they hid her in a huge coat.And near the end of the show,with a scarf and big purse! She was still big,even bigger-looking then.The poor girl!I hear she will be due in June,so any time now.What an awkward time to have a baby,with the show cancelled and all! I wish her luck.Lots of girls from before on G.L. have become pregnant and left lately,like Cassie and Ava last year!

Update from the Big Purple Dreams website says that Jessica Leccia had her baby! She and her husband Brian named their little girl 'Ivy'.

I think it's time for the Guiding Light to go. Seems they have terribls writers! As someone said in another message we could write a better story line here at home!

They need to let her take a vacation or something with her son or alone. Just get her off the show! They should have let her go on with the wedding and let Olivia find another woman (which I think is disgusting) to start with.

Also, the men playing as police officers do more investigating before they accuse someone of murder. This show gets more terrible as the days go on!

Regardless of the ups and downs of GL over the years I have loved every minute of it. I hope GL stays on the air for 70 more years!!!

Mamarock, as I understand it, she isn't going to be off the show for very long. Not the usual 6-8 weeks, cause that would put it to the end of taping in mid August.

that baking cookies scene was ridiculous. She looked gigantic. Why on earth would they shoot her like that unless the pregnancy was recognized in the story?

Everything is pre-recorded, so even though she gave birth we all have to watch the 'hump' for as many eps they included her in.

Yeah, and now Lizzy too. Give me a break, it was bad enough to watch Reva with a pretend belly and now have to watch Lizzy.

I don't think they really care. Why should we? They are pushing us away.
