The problem you have is not Phillip and his unwillingness to go to jail for scoundrel son James. You need to stop enabling him by trying to make someone else pay for his mistakes, especially since he hasn't learned from them . You guys act like you hate Phillip for not taking the wrap for him, I don't see anybody
else stepping up. Now you want to side with Alan so soon after the whole catastrophe with Coop. By the way, what happened to you being a lawyer? You
defended Phillip so that he would not go to jail, now you are trying to send him
there for something he did not do. Maybe James would benefit from boot camp?

Like your idea about boot camp! Maybe Daisy could also go...she is acting worse than a teenager, shouldn't she be more mature now???

And why does James think more of Beth than Phillip, she's had little to do with him that I can remember!

I'm not that old, but when I was a young lady, teenagers and young people had to accept punishment for things they did wrong. I think the trouble with most kids now is that it's too easy to do wrong because they know that they can get away with it. James and Daisy should both learn a harsh lesson on this show.

ITA! Phillip was right, IMO, to out James, especially since he showed NO remorse for his wrongdoings and was going to do it again. If my kids DO do something that lands them in jail, they can sit there. Maybe they'll learn something. Doesn't hurt I don't have the Spaulding name and power to help me..LOL... James is 18, and NOT a kid, you do grown up crimes you do grown up time. I have no pity for James or Beth, and a lot for Phillip. James does not need Boot camp, he needs the prison system. And if he wants to get away from being a Spaulding, when you get out of prison, change your name, leave your credit cards behind and get a job flipping burgers. Ugh. James just irritates me...can ya tell?

Aside from James' scheme being illegal Philip seems truly troubled about James's apathy about all this. Beth should be able to see that also, his attitude stinks!

Beth's an IDIOT, and first thing we know, she'll be back in Alan's bed !!

Part of me wants to say throw him in prison and throw the key away. BUT, I would like him to have to do community service and hard labor. He needs to learn care to others and get a real work ethic.

Once again pjmb, you hit the nail on the head....

I hate Beth! Always have, always will.

It is shorter to go through the list of her positives than the negatives. Beth has no decent attributes.

For myself, it is so hard to watch the PTB do this to the Beth character esp after Coop relationship. They always make Beth a blonde bimbo and now reverting to Alan who hired a killer for Jonathan. But it is too hard right now to watch this as Beth Chamberlin is such a great actress and so so different in my knowing of her with kettlebell exercise. Wow, can she really act!!! You should see her DVDs though. She can really do great exercise DVDs, the best I have ever done. Beacon Fitness is another great website. Not watching GL any more.

I don't like the way the writers went this storyline. I think Phillip would've been stupid for going to jail for something he didn't do. James is a spoiled brat..he deserves some time behind bars..and Beth needs to get a grip..she was acting really crazy yesterday

Phillip was right not taking the blame for James crime, especially after Phillip caught James trying the same scheme again!! If James wants to be away from the Spauldings so bad, let Phillip AND Alan disown him, cancell his credit cards and tell James he is on his own.

James does not appreciate all his family has done for him and he seems not to care about hurting other people. Let him go on his own for awhile and find out what life is really about.

I just wanted to slap Beth when she was going off on Phillip. It's bad enough Alan always in Phillip's face telling him that he's not good enough to take care of his family and then Beth has to jump on the bandwagon with him.

I agree with all the above posts about James, but I've gotta say, I do love his character. I think he makes a GREAT Spaulding, and is a wonderful actor! I loved it when he called Phillip a "prick". I was shocked they used that word on daytime tv!

Today I read some of what Kevin Bacon's(former GL Tim) about how they felt about being duked out of their money by Madoff. They are just a few of the faces hurt by people who do not care how they hurt others. GL showing Remy's dad hurt by James tricks, I felt was good. It put a face on the victim and it tied in the diamond s/l too. Phillip understands how Remy's dad and other were hurt by James, Beth has no clue. I guess that is why I will always love Phillip!!! Phillip hurts for his son, yet is so scared for his soul.
