Guiding Light - MESSAGE BOARDS

Its really funny that I seen a Ad saying that the Neilsen mess up ratings in one market, and it caused a uproar as the ratings for the month of march were not good for the shows.It was some night time shows that werent counted for in the ratings and recieved bad ratings for that month.My thing is How accurate is these neilsen ratings, if they can mess up like this ,how do we know that they havent been doing this to our Soap operas, Expecially Guidinglights as there markets are different every where. It just doesnt make sense to me that all the people that tune into guidinglight, and Tape the show 5 days a week why arent these ratings Higher then they are.

I think Neilson has forgotten about ALL daytime soaps. It seems like they are just making up numbers. There is NO WAY GL is still at the bottom of the ratings when they have Phillip, James, Cyrus, and many others returning. People all over have started watching again since they heard the show was being canceled so HOW ARE WE NOT GETTING ANY AFFECT IN THE RATINGS?! I think its the same for every other soap. What I dont understand is, how does Days Of Our Lives have higher ratings than Guiding Light if it has already been said on NBC that they have no Daytime watchers?! Neilson seems like they are making these ratings up!

I am in total agreement in regards to the Neilsen ratings. The GL is an awesome daytime soap. In my opinion it rates higher than alot of other soaps that I do not dare to mention. Try watching a few other soaps that copy the GL's story lines. The GL has been the guiding light for so many viewers over these many many years. Someone needs to re-think this decision !!!!!
