Why is it ok for Frank to hire Cyrus 'on retainer' to help Remy 'find' the diamonds, but it's not ok to hire Rafe, a kid who wants to get his life back on track? Why can't he be hired on retainer too? He can be on a special task force like Daisy was; she was so helpful, wasn't she? It really taught her a lot, like making fake ID's is bad, helping in a Ponzi scheme is bad ... NOT!

Cyrus is labeled an "International Thief". In my state, one serves more time in prison for stealing than for killing someone. Furthermore, what is that saying about Springfield PD...?

If I remember correctly, felons are not allowed to carry guns, which would not allow him to be a cop. Rafe had a trial and was convicted and did his time. Cyrus, I am not sure if he has been convicted of a crime. He has had his butt in jail, but that can be for misdemeanors, which are not felonies and does not have the same restrictions. Also, Rafe wanted to be a cop, but Cyrus was just hired more as a person with certain expertise in this field and not a true cop. Nonetheless, it looks like Cyrus wants to get his hands on the Winslow Family Jewels!

My other point is, if these were stolen from a foreign country, why isn't that country involved in finding them? Especially if they know where Edmund went. Shouldn't they be in Springfield helping, instead of letting the 'Keystone Kops' work this out themselves.

The biggest difference is that Cyrus was hired as a "consultant" as it were. Rafe wanted to actually be a "cop" and carry and gun and badge. Apparently he, nor his idiot mother thought the cops would have a problem with someone who shot the DA and did time in prison. I agree shortly after the rafe SL, they should have pointed out better that Cyrus was a consultant, also Daisy was under 18 with her charges, and she again was a volunteer/consultant on a teen task force. In part she was on the task force because of her past troubles and thinking she could help other wayward youth.

How about what Remy is doing???
He is betraying the trust of the people who gave him a second chance to be a cop and he is betraying the public. Cyrus is a scuum bag no doubt about that, but right now he looks like a saint compared to that low life piece of trash remy.

Regarding Remy, there are few things worse than a dirty cop. If you're going to be/act like a criminal at least have the cajones to own up to it, not hide behind a shield that says you're one of the good guys. That being said, almost every cop in SF could take a page from the same book (*glares at Marina and her drug planting ways*).

Cyrus at least owns up to the fact that he's not some uber good guy.
