Guiding Light - MESSAGE BOARDS

Has everyone already given up on the Light? I looked this morning and there were only a couple of posts for the last 2 days.

I for one still love the Light, and will love to talk about it until it goes off the air.

This is going to be like losing a friend. I've either listened to the Light on the radio or watched it on TV for almost 60 years.

I noticed our share had dropped to 1.4. I think the storylines are heating up, and I hope people will keep watching as long as there is a Light.

I think the long holiday weekend has something to do with it.

Phyllist, I've noticed a lack of posting also. But I've stayed off mostly because I don't want to argue with anyone. I post what I know from folks at the show and when posters get angry with what I say, I don't know what else to do. I'm ready always to chat about storylines and characters, but no one seems to want to talk about those topics. I guess we are really all just waiting to see what is going to happen to our show. In two weeks I will have about 13-14 soap actors here in Nashville, for CMA week and I talked with John Driscoll yesterday, that's all I have on that front. Hope you are well.

I agree with you gals that reading what Pelphrey Possee writes about different soap stars is revealing and always interesting! I don't know why people aren't posting other than that they may have given up on GL...I hope this is not the case! jdvermeer

FYI, I stayed off the board for about 3 weeks or so. I could not take the critical remarks from the Otalia fans. If we didn't like the story, we were stupid, or whatever they felt like calling us on any given day. I left the board for about 2 weeks or so, but since have returned to the board when so many posters wrote and stood up for my right not to like a storyline and post it. I miss all the good chats we all had about the stories and characters. There are many loyal fans on this board, so we have to stay in touch and hope the light does reappear on some other network.

I have stopped posting on this board for a while also. I, too, do not like the new format the posters are following. I thought this board was for chatting about GL and giving your own opinions BUT I guess it isn't that way any more. I miss all the old (not age) posters, wish they would all come back. I actually don't read the posts that much any more also. Maybe someday things will revert to the past way of chatting, at least I hope so.

Some posters are hypocritical.

Some left the board because Otalia fans were being rude? Well I was one fan that was always criticized for my opinion, by some posters who left because they were criticized.

You get what you give.

I left because this board turned into the Otalia board. Thread after thread was about Otalia. And most Otalia fans are just Otalia fans and not GL fans. They watch for Otalia and care less about other storylines, only watch for Otalia and skip/ff days/scenes they aren't on. Look at the ratings. It proves that.

If you want your Otalia to continue on, why couldn't you be a LOYAL fan and watch all days? Maybe if you'd done that our show wouldn't be cancelled. Who cares if its the only story worth watching. Turn your TV on for an hour and walk away on the days they aren't on.

Calliope, yes he is thrilled to get the role on Y & R. He has a great summer storyline coming up with an interesting romance and I am so happy for him. He is a little sad at leaving NYC cause he's leaving some friends behind, but excited about the new challenge, they really love him at Y & R and it's a big step up for him. I cannot wait to see him on the show by the first of July. He deserves all of this good fortune, I just love him. He spoils me with so much time and attention, I'm really lucky.

I'm here, I have been MIA for about the last month as r/l has been ever so busy and hectic. The kiddies finally finished up the school year, and summer vacation has officially started as of Friday. Looking forward to getting back to "norm" whatever that is.
