I haven't been posting for a long time and I know everything I seem to post is mean, negative and not welcomed. That is not who I am. I enjoyed GL in the past, but I am so upset that they are no longer going to be part of Daytime for all of us. So perhaps that is my way of saying I am upset. |

A lot of the younger "fans" don't realize that the Bauers are the beginning of the GL. We, the fans have followed this story for many many years. The Otalia storyline has brought many new posters to the message board and caused a lot of friction to the posters. I left, but, with the love of everyone one, I came back to be with all of the loyal and dedicated fans. I got over the negative posters, just ignore them, it works for me! |

We old folks understand your disappointment and frustration Lucy. We have wanted this soap to get back to family for a long time. The Bauers were our focus for years. They brought wonderful new characters in like Roger and Annie and so many others. BUT they always kept the heart of the show around...the Bauers. Now we have only Rick who shows up once every 6 months with an inane dialogue. We are disappointed but I will never say I will stop watching because of a sl or be critical of everything the production dept. has done. If I had the answers to what makes a soap perfect I would not be sitting here hoping to sell someone insurance. I'd be in NY. |

Lots of things are still good about it and I will watch until the light goes out. Enjoyed your post so much! I too, miss the Bauer family and the sls they brought us. I always looked forward to the 4th of July picnic where the whole town showed up! There are sls I like now and some I don't like, but that's what makes it interesting! Some characters I simply love to hate and would be sorry to see them go! I watch faithfully and enjoy every episode, even the days when my faves aren't on. I hope that GL is around for 70 more years! |

I have the same feelings about the show you all do...I also have seen this with Days losing the Hortons...still some Hortons around, but not like Alice and Tom. At least they still have the Christmas party with the named ornaments, and someone goes to the hospital and reads the Christmas story to the children. |

Lots of things are still good about it and I will watch until the light goes out. I am so glad to hear you say the above. I don't write a lot on these boards because some posters can be so mean. Like you and many other older viewers, I have watched GL for many, many years. I remember Papa Bauer and Bert. I, too, keep wishing they would come back to the family focus. I loved the Bauer BBQ on July 4th. People complain that they don't move the stories along fast enough. I remember when it took six months for a guy to kiss a girl. I read on these posts where some posters (several that post every day) says that she/he no longer watches GL but reads the updates. Then all they do is complain about the show. I watch every day. Tape when I am not home. I have gotten disappointed in the s/l's a lot in the past several years but I still watch every day. There are some stories and a lot of actors that I still like and enjoy watching. I, too, will keep watching until the "light goes out". Maybe if the people that stopped watching but keep complaining had continued to watch, the ratings would not have gotten so bad that GL was canceled. |
