Boring/or not Boring WRITERS?????

Today we watched nothing.

Yesteday we watched maybe a little. Nope...

Tomorrow, I can harley weight to see nothing again, and I'm not gussing around. (why do you have Harley and Gus on this site? They left a long time ago.) Change you're pictures if you want us to keep visiting. B&B, Brooke hasn't had her hair like that for years. (Although she needs a make over.)

Come on, writers, can't you give us something that hasn't been played before? So Lifetime? Will it be on everyday or are you going to replay what has been and then move on next year from 2009? You are leaving a lot of detail out as to when and how many episodes, time?)

Need blood, Oh my where will we find it? What a Shane, I mean Shame, dad lives in the same town. Reva, so Reva, has two men fighting over her. She is not that important to the show, get rid of the drama and bring real drama back to GL.

Then Lizzy and Bill. Boring... it must be scarey to have your boyfriend slapping your behind in your home when you never know who's watching from the staircase.

RESEARCH...go back and watch what you have had us to endure.

I want to know if any of you are as sick of the writing as I am. This will be my last comment about this for now.

Gram, what are you doing out of the hospital (that you have been in for 4+ months now?) Oh, I came to claim my recipe.

BUZZ BURGER, was hers, and then her and Buzz get into it because, why? Who the heck is this women that no one ever saw until last yr. Heard of and funny how her "bestist grand-daughter", never heard of how dear old gram was worth millions until a "Copper" came along and took her "recipe".

Come on................?????????????????????????

I ask that you all stop looking at the stupid kissy kissy and get them to write something that we can learn from, like in the good'ole days.

Watched for 40 yrs..as I cooked, cleaned and now I am retired, and just tired of the writers. I want more and think of have asked for it for some time now. Do you think they don't check this blog out from time to time. Ask for better. WE need better. Most of the people in the USA are out of work, so why do we want to watch boring. We all grew up with this show at one time or another.

I FOR ONE WANT TO KNOW MY CABLE BILL PAYMENT IS GOING TO SOMETHING I TRUELY ENJOYED.

I am sure, time to time they lurk...But I simply asked a question in which a response was provided (Thank You!) and I must tell ya, your boring is my entertainment...so not sure how I should respond to that but to each is their own...after 40 years; sure you have acknowledged that? (Please keep in mind, that I am in no way trying to disgruntle you and I do respect your opinion).

Do you not have a choice as to what you subscribe to? Unless, it is basic cable? but if that is the case, than let me ask; do you agree w/ all that is viewed on your cable network? b1p1

I have watched GL since 1956 and find the writing is great right now! The Spauldings are interacting like never before with the new generation growing up. The Otalia sl has been written in a solid and believable way. Bizzie is a blast at last! Shayne and Dinah set the screen on fire...I could go on, but you get my drift!

I think the writers are doing a great job! **applause, applause**

I agree that the writting had been boring a year or so ago but I really like the sl now. The past year and really the past 6 months has been just wonderful. I love my GL and will follow them to whereever they may go!

LOL! Seriously! The poster stated that she/ he had been a fan of Guiding Light for over 40 years. Then the poster went on to say that if they are going to make their payment for recieving cable- the television program's writing should at least be up to par! Then you come behind her/him and ask a ridiculous questino such as: Do you not have a choice as to what you subscribe to??????? huh????
Last I checked CBS was basically free! It's not like a cable channel, in fact if you wanted to you could undo your cable wires and stick a fork in your reception and you could still watch GL.... A little fuzzy, but you could watch! The poster's point was not that he/she should have their cable turned off if GL doesnt get better- It was they, in fact, love watching Guiding Light and has for many decades and it's a horrible shame how the writing has flickered to Grandma's that NO ONE EVEN KNOWS!!! MY GOD IT'S THE BOTTOM OF THE 9TH "LITERALLY" YOU CANNOT CONTINUE TELLING THESE PUSSYFOOT STORIES UNTIL sEPT 18TH! You know Im agreement, this is it for me! GL has to August to shape up and then I dont care what network it comes on... as far as Im concerned they should try the "Cartoon Network"- per Jill LORI hURST STORYLINES!

WOW, thanks for deep thought, I didn’t realize I needed a lesson there...Moving on...

My question was far from ridiculous, my point is that you may not enjoy everything that you pay for on your cable network. Simple as that! Jeeze, I sure as hell don’t and again, your boring is my entertainment. So, what is your problem anyways, did I not make it clear that I was not trying to disgruntle the poster and that I truly respected his/her opinion…(I am shaking my head right now) b1p1

Here is a tip:

This is a message board....If you do not want someone to question you or rebuttle your statement, think twice before you post!

No matter how flat the pancake is - there are still 2 sides.

We should learn from other peoples perspective view points. We are human, we do evolve!

I never meant it to hurt any of thier fans. I, (I) am just upset with what they have done with a fine fine show. I miss the good'ole days where Reva was "freaking out" and Phillip was laughing with Rick, loving Beth and it wasn't so crazy.

It is always nice to see others happy. Happy is good these days. I see other shows getting awards for thier crazy story lines. Why not GL? They were on top when Reva drove her car off. So why are they asking us to watch her in a cabin with a fire place that has in the back ground "Reva & Josh, FOREVER, day after day?

Come on...

Thank you for writing what you did. I appreciate it. Kudo's to you. (thanks)

I appreciate those of you liking the story line, but I miss the old story lines when they just knocked all our socks off and it was an around the cooler conversation daily.

Maybe some nerves are frayed from recent arguments and people just assume a defensive position automatically. But also, people's intent is harder to tell with the written word, so things may be taken harsher than they may have been meant.

Having said all that, I think this is just a case of not being able to please all the fans all the time. I'm amongst those who felt the show wasn't as good a year or so ago but has improved greatly over the past year. And from what I've read and understand, I credit Jill Lorie Hurst and Ellen Wheeler for most of that.

OK, other shows are getting awards for crazy SLs. There wasn't much else to choose from, I suspect. And I appreciate that you liked the old times with Phillip & Rick bonding (they've had several scenes of that recently), Reva freaking out (not sure what your definition of that is, because she's freaked out recently, as well), and loving Beth (isn't that what we've been witnessing since the day Phillip interrupted Beth & Alan's wedding?).

Just my impression, but I'm thinking the show is trying to be more reality based, less with the clone-type stories, and do well thought-out stories. Still give the angst, the romance, the tears, the soap. Make us work for the endgame of each story. But not make them as outrageous as perhaps they used to be. Besides, isn't Reva getting a little long in the tooth for some of those over-the-top SLs, anymore?

But as for "...why are they asking us to watch her in a cabin with a fire place that has in the back ground "Reva & Josh, FOREVER, day after day?" Don't you know? I believe it's foreshadowing. And because they *are* forever. I think the two will be reunited before the last CBS broadcast of GL.

So I guess I'm going a long way to say, I'm sorry the show isn't to your liking anymore. But it's doing what I think few shows have - it's changing with the times. It's not stale, it's not sticking with the same old same old. No, it's not telling outrageous stories like in the 80s or 90s. And quite frankly, thank God. How boring would that be? When the "4 Musketeers" reunited even they remarked how cheesy things were back then. There are great stories being told now. Phillip has a chip off the old block to contend with, his son James. Bill and Lizzie are fun to watch, They're no doubt gonna be entering some more angsty times, but Bill is funny as hell. Dinah & Shayne - it's a tired SL, boy finds out he has a baby he didn't know about but someone else is raising him, rare disease makes him step forward to come out of the shadows almost exposing his secret. How will the parents find out who the real father is? Yet I'm loving Dinah & Shayne. Then again, I love anything Dinah does. And Otalia. I won't go on more than to say, I think this is the best-written SL on TV today.

I guess the show just requires more patience than we're used to, anymore. GL is back to how it used to be, when it took time to tell a satisfying story. I, for one, am pleased.

Hey I read what you had to say. I don't agree and I don't have to. I am not signing on to this blog to agree with what others have to say. I am upset that the show out of the 4 shows, yet one of the first to leave first. Someone got to comfortable and if you think "make believe is silly", then look around your own home. You wrote a lot to put me in my place.

I am not the bad person here, I just want the show to be better.

I think it is boring. I have the right to say so and if you don't think so, then tell me how the show is doing so well. I just ask that you keep in mind that they were let go. So..get over yourselves and stop being so rude to me, they will never be on cbs again and that is a slap in the face for all of us, but because I am upset, I am told that I will no longer be able to blog because someone has the right to tell someone that does not have computer skills and uses all caps when typing is considered rude and if I continue to back that person up, I would be no longer allowed to express myself.

I don't know about you, but I am looking for a guilding light to the end of this tunnel that has told me a 4 century vet that they aren't going to be allowed to voice thier opinion.
