Guiding Light - MESSAGE BOARDS

Today while listening to the opening song my four year old sat next to me and sang, "Oh, meatloaf can save the world..." Cracked me up! Thought I'd share. That's all I hear now when I play the song.

Everytime the song comes on, my dogs sing (howl) so loud I can't hear the words, so as far as I'm concerned, the kiddo may have it right! Did he happen to sing the rest? Anything about peanut butter or spaghetti?

I've always thought the song was a little absurd. Everybody's high, low, feet on the ground, heads in the sky???? What does that mean? And then 'Only love can save the world' It just doesn't make much sense to me. I liked the previous one where the hands came together and the words were spoken. It was a little more meaningful. Maybe a little less polished, but meaningful.

Maybe the words to the current song describe the characters now. They are in such at such odds. It's gonna take alotta love to get this mess straightened out and get the characters on even footing instead of out there in never-never land.

I liked the old theme song that used to depict GL so much better. When I heard that song, I knew is was The Guiding Light.

To me, the new song reminds me of the downfall of my once favorite soap, makes me too sad.

That's a cute little meatloaf story.I liked the older more dramatic one before too.But, given the chance,it is a cute song. I also love the photos of the people,because they are current.Y&R in the 70's couldn't change their old drawings much.Boy,did they become out-dated! They don't even change the one they have much now,come to think of it! So,I really like the new,current photos of G.L. stars with the song!!I do think my fav was going back 15 years maybe.Melina Kanakaredes was still on,and they had her blow out a candle(at the end of the spot) and the light house light went around,and the theme would blare.And they would show a few of the stars during the playing of the theme.It was very dramatic.I like this start the most!Does anybody remember that beginning?
