Really, try the fast forward thing because if I hadn't, I would have gave up along time ago on Gl (Reva show)and missed out on the great storyline of Olivia and Natalia. Hang in there, there will be something you like.

Because ATWT was given another year for it and they thought that they were "in" if they did.

One big difference is that they didn't, once again, do their research.

Hi Talkingsis, I'm so with you I'm totally surprised at these people whom i presume would'nt mind hooking up with a woman thats what has them confused in their own skin, if the show go's off start going to some gay clubs you can fully be satisfied or even start them a Olivia and Natalia affair, or perhaps their daughters or sisters or even mothers may have some news for them I'M OUT NOW! see it dont have to stop here it could be right in your face or you. Guiding Light is one of the best shows on television right now. It would be ashame for people to leave because they do not like or can not relate to a story line. If everyone did that, there would be nothing left to watch on tv except reality programs and game shows.
Personally I love Otalia. Otalia is a beautiful love story. It's a throw back to the old days, when soaps took their time telling a story and brought their viewers on a wonderful journey. I respect everyone's opinions, but don't give up on Guiding Light. Just fast forward through what you don't like. GL has so much to offer, Dinah and shayne, Bill and lizzie and now the Edmond murder mystery, etc. This is soap writing at it's finest. Enjoy it and keep the light shining.

This is by far the best storyline on television today. It is so true to life and is really the first accurate representation of two women falling in love. Today's episode, with the conversation between Natalia and Father Ray was absolutely, stunningly moving. A thoughtful, devout person, Natalia is showing how you can be both a follower of Christ and a gay woman. I can not convey the amount of healing that is going on across the nation, the world (there are a lot of Otalia teams that have formed internationally) because of the beautiful writing, amazing acting, and gorgeous, old-fashioned romantic story telling. I love, love, love Guiding Light for creating Otalia!

::sigh:: This still going on? I've been staying out since it started, letting people have their say. And then, ironically, I see someone ask, why can't those who don't like the SL get to have this thread, while those who are pro-Otalia get to have an entire thread without anyone being allowed to counter them? Well, I believe it was one thread only, and the moderators set that up for them. So, if you want parity, maybe ask the mods for your own thread like that?

Now, yet again, I'll repeat what I've said since, I dunno, the beginning of time? Never has it been said that this is a lesbian story. There is nothing on the show that's established if Olivia & Natalia broke up they would each seek relationships with other women. This is a story about two *people* who have fallen in love with each other. When it started, the gender of the participants was irrelevant. It just *happened*. They didn't seek it out. Now, they're dealing with the repercussions. They didn't just "wake up one day, gay", as many are accusing the writer of doing to the characters. That's not what happens. "Hmmm, let's see, I brushed my teeth, read the paper, walked the dog, kicked the husband out, what's next on the checklist? Oh yeah, I've got a sudden urge to watch me some Rachel Maddow, check out Netflix for some Xena videos and go find me a woman!" It just doesn't work like that. I've been reading and hearing enough stories from people who didn't realise how they really felt until later in life, and trust me, none of them "woke up" one day just deciding they'd be gay. I think many of you would love to believe that because then it's easier for you to think they could turn back to what you feel should be the "normal, right" lifestyle. "Be healed!"

As was said, today's show facing Natalia's religious beliefs v. her love for Olivia head-on was fantastic. They're not trying to bury it, or sweep it under the carpet. And anyone who tries to throw the Bible up as a reason to not allow someone to love another is on shaky ground, in my book. There are so many different interpretations, and everyone thinks theirs is the A-One, Top Dog version. What disturbs me is any version that prohibits one person from loving another romantically (minors excluded). Someone is telling another, God does not want you to fall in love with the person you fell in love with because that love is wrong. What a powerful thing to claim. I dunno, that reads more to me like someone misunderstood God's message and spun it the way *they* wanted it to mean. Course, you don't have to agree. The point is, you also don't have to be in love with a gay person. Just allow them the right to love whomever they choose without judging or harrassing them. They do you. (Unless you're wearing horrendous clothing. )

I thought GL writers were right on with yesterday's episode.
Natalia is NOT turning her back on God she is struggling with the confines of her religion. She knows God is all about Love. She knows the bible is a guide to living your life and is open to many interpretations. Nat is a good person, She cares for people, she loves openly and deeply, she believes in God as her best friend, she is everything that makes a Christian 'good'

I agree with you ! The thing that really bothers me is the fact that they made a good devout Catholic girl turn her back on God !... I bet the gay and lesbian viewers would be upset if a lesbian couple moved to town and one lesbian saw the error of her ways and became a nun ! UUUGGGHHH ! Why are they always making Christians look bad on TV ? !

This story line stinks. Every since the writer wrote the Bowers out, got rid of key players on the soap its been going down hill for along time. Its hard to watch it has gotten so stupid. Nothing makes sense. Years ago when the writers wrote those silly stories about Reba I thought they would get better. what happen did you fall down and bump your head.

I'm with you on this. You have a right to your opinion just as the others do. I think this storyline is wrong. Olivia needs a man and so does Natalia.

I blame this on poor writers of course I blame them for the reason the show has went to the dogs.

Your opinion counts as much as the others. As for me I think they should scrap the gay storyline and move to something exciting.

The problem with GL is they solve cases to fast. They could drag this Edmund thing out for a long time.

Days of our Lives drags things out for months on top of months and keep you in suspense.

GL just needs better writers.

The thing I hate about DOOL is that the characters have the same conversations for a week. Nothing new ever happens. I could watch the show once a month and be caught up on all the sls.

I've been enjoying GL. The outside sets mixed in with different cameras make it feel "real." The sls move. That's what makes it great.
